bbohbbneedacruise Posted September 16, 2012 #2 Share Posted September 16, 2012 No but there should be a whole lot of sunshine beaming down on the open decks.:D
ginak82 Posted September 16, 2012 #3 Share Posted September 16, 2012 Yes on the pool deck! Why would you need a bed? The sun is so much better for you ;)
Hstergo Posted September 16, 2012 #4 Share Posted September 16, 2012 nothing like taking a cruise to go to a tanning bed ... since they are very hard to find when your back home

Cruise-Crazy Posted September 16, 2012 #8 Share Posted September 16, 2012 Why would someone go on a cruise and want a tanning bed? Plenty of deck Chairs and sun! :D
Laplayaperson Posted September 16, 2012 #9 Share Posted September 16, 2012 I don't think it's an unfair question...what if it was to rain, or wanted to do something indoors like in the casino for the day and still look like they were sunkissed?! Sorry though, unsure of that particular ship, but hopefully someone will answer w/out an unbasis opinion!
sailinglisa Posted September 16, 2012 #10 Share Posted September 16, 2012 No, there are no tanning beds on the ship.

conchead Posted September 16, 2012 #12 Share Posted September 16, 2012 This is the stupidest post I have ever seen on Cruise Critic Opinions vary:rolleyes: Like it was said above, what if it rains a lot also.. I haven't researched to see if there is a difference, but I know I am taking a medicine that says I need to stay out of the direct sun. I don't know if fake sun matters or not. Chigirlcruzin Posted September 16, 2012 #13 Share Posted September 16, 2012 Sorry for all the replies that don't answer your question. As someone else pointed out, no, there are no tanning beds on the ships.
Laplayaperson Posted September 16, 2012 #14 Share Posted September 16, 2012 Why is this a stupid post? I think it's a valid question, i think your comment that it is stupid speaks for itself
Earthworm Jim Posted September 17, 2012 #15 Share Posted September 17, 2012 This is the stupidest post I have ever seen on Cruise Critic Not really stupid. For example, what if it's an Alaska cruise? Yes on the pool deck! Why would you need a bed? The sun is so much better for you ;) I think it's more of a question between bad and worse than one being "better". wrigley80 Posted September 17, 2012 #16 Share Posted September 17, 2012 Why do you need a tanning bed when there are hundreds of deck chairs and this real bright thing in the sky.......called THE SUN
mojitodiva Posted September 17, 2012 #17 Share Posted September 17, 2012 Not a stupid question at all... I would love to see a Spray Tan specialist on the ship. I don't tan and will always hang out in the shade while cruising/vacationing. I do get a spray tan the day before the cruise however it will only last for 3 or 4 days. Would be great to retouch the spray tan midweek during the cruise. Suntans and tanning beds will age you quicker in life not to mention skin cancer. But to each his own....Sun, tanning bed, spray or pale white whatever makes one happy. :D We were on a cruise a few years ago and it rained the whole time and was chilly. There were conversations going on during debark between a group of cruisers wishing there was a tanning bed onboard they could have used and not go home pale white. jcallcut Posted September 17, 2012 #20 Share Posted September 17, 2012 Why do you need a tanning bed when there are hundreds of deck chairs and this real bright thing in the sky.......called THE SUN Yeah...on my last Alaska cruise I just stripped down to my bathing suit and layed out under the bright rainy skys. It was great because there were always chairs available. No chair hogs at all. One of the days it got up to almost 40 degrees so it was perfect sunning weather. A tanning bed indeed. What a waste that would have been.
jcallcut Posted September 17, 2012 #21 Share Posted September 17, 2012 Not really stupid. For example, what if it's an Alaska cruise? The Magic isn't sailing to Alaska. No but posters are implying the OP. Was stupid for even asking the question. What does it matter why or where the ship goes? All the OP wanted to know is if there was a tanning bed or not. Really a pretty simple question that shouldn't have resulted in all the condescending responses.
coevan Posted September 17, 2012 #22 Share Posted September 17, 2012 I thought tanning beds were for your pre cruise tan. My wife is pre cruise tanning right now.
BamaCruiser20 Posted September 18, 2012 #23 Share Posted September 18, 2012 The question was clearly stated in the link to the thread. If you think it is stupid, why bother clicking on it?? Anyways...we cruised on the Pride on one of her Mexican Riviera runs in 2006 and while there were no actual tanning beds, there were tanning bed lights in the ceiling in a small area of the spa with deck loungers under them. If I remember correctly, there were maybe 8 loungers and a 20 min timer on the lights. Now whether these lights are still there, I don't know. But they were at one time. The Pride was also doing Alaskan cruises during the summer season, so I would assume that was the reasoning for the lights. I know the OP asked about the Magic, and that the Magic is not going to Alaska, but obviously, it's not such a stupid question.
Almost Packed Posted September 18, 2012 #24 Share Posted September 18, 2012 This is the stupidest post I have ever seen on Cruise Critic and this is the rudest post....okay, not the rudest, but close... the OP asked a question. if you do not have a legit answer, move on. OP, to the best of my knowledge, none of the cruise ships have tanning beds. i for one would not mind a tanning bed on a cruise...especially certain itens.
