He doesnt really want to go to the overpriced tourist traps like Senor Frogs, Hard Rock, etc. thanks for the help!!! There's a couple.. head right towards Senor Frogs along the wharf.. Just before you get to SF, on the left, you'll see a little hole in the wall. Cheap beers. If you pass senor frogs and make the left, theres a little spot next to the frogs.. bahamas joes or something like that. If you want something more commericial, the crews pub is left as you exit the port.

poppydawg Posted September 27, 2012 Author #5 Share Posted September 27, 2012 As for these local places, are they safe?
scubagirrl Posted September 27, 2012 #6 Share Posted September 27, 2012 As for these local places, are they safe? Sure, they are right on the wharf.. plenty of police presence.
poppydawg Posted September 27, 2012 Author #7 Share Posted September 27, 2012 Yeah, i guess that was a pretty stupid question. When you say cheap beers, how cheap do you mean?
scubagirrl Posted September 27, 2012 #8 Share Posted September 27, 2012 Yeah, i guess that was a pretty stupid question. When you say cheap beers, how cheap do you mean? I sometime see local beers 3/$5.. not sure if they are specials or everyday. Don't forget .. US beers are considered imports... so they are more expensive. poppydawg Posted September 27, 2012 Author #11 Share Posted September 27, 2012 Ok. Wouldthe beers there be like the stuff in Mexico, where you only drink stuff out of an unopened bottle? Like draft beer.

Probably so in a local bar.. but not so at a hotel bar or upscale venue. Most bars only have cans and bottles.. so you shouldn't have to worry. Bibble Posted September 28, 2012 #14 Share Posted September 28, 2012 Second to the hole in the wall just before SF. Great conch fritters, too! I'll give a third to that little hole in the wall! Last mother's day, I sat up for a drink there while my mom and daughter went through the straw market. My mom had to drag me away - the people were friendly, it was a good location for people-watching, the beer was cold and cheap, and I can't wait to go back!
