smbarth Posted September 26, 2012 #1 Share Posted September 26, 2012 So we are going on our first cruise (Carnival Magic) in about five weeks - I can't wait! Seems like I read somewhere that before you leave, they try to get you to book your next cruise with some kind of benefits and/or discounts - What is that all about, and how does it work? I'm sure I'll be elated from our trip, and I don't want to fall victim to any scams or "deals" that aren't really that awesome... Need to be prepared! Thanks everyone! bruisin4cruisin Posted September 26, 2012 #2 Share Posted September 26, 2012 It is called a Future Cruise Credit. Not being offered after the 28th or something, of this month. Enjoy your cruise!
Rare chasinraynbowz Posted September 26, 2012 #3 Share Posted September 26, 2012 Why would you assume they are scams? lol Enjoy your cruise. I have never had any problems with buying a future cruise. In fact, I can honestly say I never even saw where the future cruise desk was located. I will bet you won't either!!!

If you actually book a cruise, including putting down the deposit, you can get $50 on board credit on that cruise. $50, $75, $100, $200 depending on the length of the cruise. Although Carnival is discontinuing the sale of Future Cruise Certificates, you'll still be able to get an on board credit for your future cruise when you book it on the ship. I wish that offer was also available when booking a cruise with your PVP. To the OP, the only thing I can think of that you may come across while on board is if there happens to be someone taking credit card applications for Carnival Mastercard. When you use the credit card, you'll be eligible to receive OBC (on board credit) for a future cruise. If you're not interested, it's easy to say "No thanks."
