I just opened an account on flickr so I could post pics. It uploads one or two then gets stuck uploading. I have to shut the whole thing down then reopen it to upload another pic. I only have 8 pics Im trying to upload. The one Im doing now has been uploading for 10 minutes. I use mozilla firefox if that matters. HELP

Also if Im just copying and pasting, why do I need flickr? Cant I just do that from the pics on my computer? I have windows photo gallery and I use facebook as well. Sorry for being such a noob, im going on a cruise in a month and want to post a picture review. I want to be able to put 6 pics in a post with words before and after each pic. You know, here is my filet mignon. My friend had the lobster tail, that sort of thing. You know, FOOD PORN :D

Over an hour later - still uploading! :( OK, so Flickr sucks, should I waste more time by trying photobucket or just give up on the idea of posting a photo review? :(

Think about the big picture.

Getting an online hosting site is great with the many things you can do.

You can set up albums, photobooks, and view them from any internet connection.

Also, it is great to have your pictures on multiple media just for backup.

I use both PB and Shutterfly. Both are good, but I use SF to do all my photobooks. Really like both, either should be good for you.

Just curious, how many pictures did you start to upload to Flicker? I would suggest that you set up an Album (My cruise 2013 on the Titanic), then in that album, set up folders, such as embarkation, Port 1, Port 2, Port 3, Ship inside, Ship outside, etc

If you would like to see what I have done with SF, here is a link.

Here is your picture. You were just missing the little front squared-off parentheses bracket item before the first IMG. You need to be careful to copy the full item, including each little part/element. Does this help?

Nice picture!! Congrats.

THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio

Did a June 7-19, 2011, Celebrity Solstice cruise from Barcelona that had stops in Villefranche, ports near Pisa and Rome, Naples, Kotor, Venice and Dubrovnik. Enjoyed great weather and a wonderful trip. Dozens of wonderful visuals with key highlights, tips, comments, etc., on these postings. Any more advise for ipad user? I uploaded some pics to shutterfly but where do I go from here? I could not get the copy option to come up on my selected pic.

I am not on an Ipad, but, you need to copy, here is how I do it with Windows.

Go to SF. Bring up one picture.

Put your mouse pointer over the picture, right click, from that menu, just click copy. Has to be a similar way on an Ipad.

Come here, and REPLY to a post.

Put your mouse pointer in the post of your reply, right click, hit paste.

That's it.

Terry, many thanks for your help in encouraging me to do this uploading to Cruise Critic threads. Hopefully it will be like riding a bike, once I get to know how to do it, I will never forget - BUT - I tried to upload another image, putting a squared off parentheses in front of it and it still did not work - for me!!!!!!!I must be thick!!!!! I have shown the link I am trying to copy below, with another "["in front of the as you suggested,

[and it still did not work. - [ Wandering Albatross (Diomedea exulans)

What do you mean by "You need to be careful to copy the full item, including each little part/element". Apologies again for being so dumb, I seem to have a mental block on this subject, thanks again in anticipation of your patience and assistance, Harold.

PSI am currently in Kuala Lumpur on the way to Australia so I may not be able to check your answer for a while, but thanks anyway, Harold

Instead of just copying and pasting, try using the image button in the menu bar above the message box. It looks like a mountain. click on it and insert the link to the picture. One thing to watch, the popup box already has the http:// in it, if the link is broken it means it's there twice.

When TLCOhio said you were missing a square bracket it was at the very front of the Tinypic link (coloured red above) - if you look closely, you will see that there is no [ at the front of the link you quoted. Also note that at the end of the link, there is a / before the IMG (this needs to be included in the ""closing" IMG in parenthesis.

The Tinypic link works fine for me but I do have problems too with the full link - that may have to do with the copyright protection of the photo on Flickr (I am not conversant with Flickr, so this is just a guess ...)

Hope this makes sense ...
