How to post pictures ??

I have to thank everyone for all the great advice on this thread. I can now do it! :) Now, I have another question. I didn't want to load up my Photobucket account, and have to start paying them, so I deleted some photos, and when I visited the thread where I had posted one photo, it had disappeared, and all that was left was a little coloured box with a question mark in it. I suppose that doesn't matter over time, but I guess it means that Photobucket is just holding the photo in the post, and that if it is taken out of Photobucket, it no longer exists where it was posted either. Is that right?

Oh, I just read back and saw someone else had posted a similar question - or maybe not quite. Interesting.

Trying to link the entire album:

<div style="width:480px;text-align:right;"><embed width="480" height="360" src="http://pic2.pbsrc.com/flash/rss_slideshow.swf" flashvars="rssFeed=http%3A%2F%2Ffeed1336.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fo660%2FTerre52%2Ffeed.rss" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" /><a href="javascript:void(0);" target="_blank"><img src="http://pic.photobucket.com/share/icons/embed/btn_geturs.gif" style="border:none;" /></a><a href="http://s1336.photobucket.com/user/Terre52/library/" target="_blank"><img src="http://pic.photobucket.com/share/icons/embed/btn_viewall.gif" style="border:none;" alt="Terre52's album on Photobucket" /></a></div>

Okay, that didn't work...I'll keep trying.

Okay, y'all have been so helpful...which link to I click on in Photobucket to post here for the entire album, not just one photo?

This may work...let's see: http://i1336.photobucket.com/albums/o660/Terre52/Food%20Porn/ShrimpCocktail.jpg

Okay, that didn't work either. I don't think I have a link to post in forums that will open an entire album. Bummer. I think I used to because I posted in my signature a linkl to my last photo album, but now all I have are links for a slideshow, email and HTML.

Let's see what happens with this link: http://s1336.photobucket.com/user/Terre52/media/Alaska%202011/4amsunrise_zpsd9c810f4.jpg.html

When you use PB to put a picture here, your post with the picture points back to PB and that specific picture. If you move that picture or delete it, the pointer is finding nothing there, so, yes, your picture will no longer show up here if you move it or delete it from PB.

Now that you are getting a good grip on PB, which I also use, check out ShutterFly, which I also use.

I like to use PB to post my pictures here.

However, when it comes to putting together my online albums, I like SF much better.

If you are interested, take a look at my SF album. It has a lot of flexibility, also I like to be able to put links, descriptions, text, etc.

Terre, thanks for your comment. I sense that you may be still having difficulty in posting your picture on this board, based on your posts on June 25th. I see that you have your pictures on Photobucket as well. I was able to follow your link to your picture, from there I copied the IMG data to the right of the picture in Photobucket, and pasted it onto here and added your caption under the photo. That's all I did and now it magically appears.

Hope this helps.

Very interesting, thanks. So the photo is not actually "moved" here, just "loaned". I guess that is how they get you to fill up all your free space, and need to buy more! Such is life.:)

I have tons of photos on PB, and never filled up my space nor have been charged.

Thank you. I think I finally got it figured out. I didn't think the link to the entire album was posting but it was. Photobucket is a little confusing with so many options...I miss Webshots, it was so easy!

Johneeo and others on this thread have been a HUGE help!

Good to know. Maybe if I put back the photo I deleted, they'll re-insert in into the thread it disappeared from?

If the link is the same.

I used to have an account with Webshots and when it closed down all the albums and pictures I had posted on here and on my own website no longer show. I was really disappointed. It's too much trouble to upload them on another site then go back to my website and put them back on there.

1. I went to SF, logged in to my account.

2. I went to "MY Shutterfly" selected one of my albums.

3. I then opened one of the pix, see below, moused over it, right clicked, selected copy, came here, replied to your post, and did a paste, and the picture posted.

I did it your way by going through My Shutterfly rather than My Pictures. I was able to right click and select "copy image URL". However, I had to add to click the insert image icon first in the post and then paste. Copy image alone did nothing. (Or it also works if I manually added the and tags around the http address.)

Instead of just copying and pasting, try using the image button in the menu bar above the message box. It looks like a mountain. click on it and insert the link to the picture. One thing to watch, the popup box already has the http:// in it, if the link is broken it means it's there twice.

just in case you are following this thread, thank YOU as your way is the only way that works for me. thanks so much.

Nice shot, where and what is it?

Agreed...Istanbul is an unbelievable port of call.

And it is featured in the newest Dan Brown novel 'Inferno' along with Florence.

Both are on the Grand Med cruise so maybe they will need to rename that cruise as the 'Dan Brown cruise'??:p:p:confused:
