My turn!! Princess or Royal Caribbean???

My daughter (16) and I are looking at itineraries for the Med, most likely in June, 2005. I think we've narrowed it down to either the RCI Brilliance for 12 days or one of the Princess ships (I think the Grand) for either 10 or 12 days (can't remember). We may both be taking a friend. Price is about the same more or less & we've figured out that with 4 women, we need two rooms, mostly b/c of bathroom space!

Any opinions on which ship a/o itinerary would be better? Thanks much!

Don't know yet, Venice would be wonderful to see, but I've seen pics of Santorini and the other Greek Isles and all I have to say is WOW!

My best friend and I are more into ancient sites & ruins so I guess I'm leaning a little more towards the islands...we'll see!

I think Princess would be good. Check and see if they will have a guest lecturer on board. I agree the RCCL is younger in most cases and may have more activities for the teens but if she already has a friend then you may not need that. Princess limits number of children which may give you a break too. The food on Princess is better. I would go with itinery.

Hopfully a Hawiian Cruise

Princess was alot nicer cruiseline the RCCL. We have not been on a Voyager class ship but the Princess ship we were on was the original Pacific Princess which went into service in 1972. Even though the ship was old-nothing could beat the service, food and entertainment. My daughter was 18 when we cruised her and though there were only maybe one or 2 in her age group on ship she still had a blast. She did karoke and trivia almost every night and loved it.

I don't think you can go wrong with either cruiseline. They BOTH offer excellent teen programs. They are BOTH wonderful ships, IMO. I think when it comes to vacation, no matter where it may be, you are bound to have a great time. We work hard, so let's play hard, right? Brilliance is stunning and, for my money, RCI is higher quality overall than Princess.

I found Princess to be a but stuffy and I did not care for the food.

I like the energy of the staff aboard the RCI ships and Radiance class are just wonderful overall!

I have not sailed Princess since they were acquired by CCL but have to believe they have declined since then.

Just my opinion.

RCI(37),NCL(12),Princess(1),HAL(2),Celebrity(3), Carnival(2), Eastern (13),Radisson(2), Star Clippers(1),Home Lines(2), Costa(5),Big Red Boat (6), Dolphin (1), Commodore (2), Others (11)
