Ceelestia Posted October 11, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 11, 2012 Hi - I'm going to be sailing on FOS next Jan to the W. Caribbean. It's been a long time since I've cruised... let alone on RCCL and I'm super excited. I'm interested in understanding the showtimes on the FOS W. Caribbean so that I can make dining reservations. Looking at RCCL's showtime listing: http://media.royalcaribbean.com/content/royal/en_US/pdf/showtimes_FR.pdf There isn't a show on Sunday or Saturday - isn't there usually an opening night and closing night show? Is the ice-show on Mon/Wed/Fri the same show each time? Are there no main theater shows on Wednesday or Friday either? I'm thinking of trying out both Chops and Portofinos... love to hear people's feedback about both of these restaurants, the menu offerings and even the best day to try them out on! Thank you in advance!!

Thank you in advance!! Hi Ceelestia, Are you sailing on Jan. 6 or Jan. 20? I'm sailing on Jan. 20. So far, entertainment reservations are not yet available for this sailing, so things could change based on the schedule in the link you posted. If you're sailing on Jan. 20, please join our roll call: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1566446 If you're sailing on Jan. 6, the roll call is: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1570629 Both roll calls need more people to sign up for the Meet & Mingle: https://secure.royalcaribbean.com/ccSearch.do For more information about the Royal Caribbean Cruise Critic Meet & Mingle: http://www.cruisecritic.com/rollcall/cruiselinel2.cfm?cruiselineid=
kruzerci Posted October 11, 2012 #3 Share Posted October 11, 2012 From what I remember, they don't post the welcome aboard and farewell shows online before the cruise, but there definitely are shows the first and last night. You don't need reservations for the shows that aren't available for online booking. Chops and Portofino are both wonderful. We always do Chops on the first formal night, because the entree in the MDR is filet of beef, and we do Portofino on the last night of the cruise, which is the least appealing MDR menu for us. Portofino is such a great way to end the cruise... I actually prefer their menu over Chops even though their surcharge is less. Have a great cruise! Freedom is our favorite ship. Thank you in advance!! This past January they only had one opening show and it was at 7 or 7:30. We missed it because we planned to eat at 7. They plan the shows around the regular dinner seating times so they are usually at 7 or 9. You either have a pre dinner or post dinner show. We had MTD so we had to arrange our schedule to see a show. As another poster mentioned , there are roll calls for January cruises. We have one going for January 13 and 20 so come join us. We are doing both.
