WellShoneMoon Posted October 22, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 22, 2012 My husband (who uses a wheelchair) and I just got off the Freedom of the Seas at Port Canaveral yesterday. I had parked our car in the garage at the port. We have a lift on the back of the car to carry his wheelchair. As we were leaving the port after disembarkation, I pulled out my wallet to pay for the parking fee for the week, and the man in the booth told me there was no charge, as he could see that we use a wheelchair. What a nice surprise! Saved us $120.
Ms Ann Posted October 22, 2012 #2 Share Posted October 22, 2012 Florida has some very nice benefits for the mobility challenged. Each port has been slightly different in what kind of documentation they ask for. But basiclly, if your vehicle is modified, and the person for whom it has been modified is traveling in it, then there will not be a charge. Wish all states were as generous. Not that way here in Texas!!!!
