How early to arrive to the port and when to depart?

We would like to board our cruise from the Barcelona, Spain port at 2pm and the ship arrives back to barcelona at 8:00am.

We were planning on arriving a day in advance and leaving a day later while staying in a hotel. In order to do some sightseeing in Barcelona and also to make sure we don't miss our flight or the cruise.

Is this a good time frame??
