go fish 44 Posted November 7, 2014 #26 Share Posted November 7, 2014 We agree with everthing that the previous post says this is a wonderful tour and the BEST tour we took in Vietnam. We highly recommend Dung Phan tour of Nha trang. We took gifts for the children at the orhpanage like coloured pencils, a big hit was a ruler that went around a person wrist. Remember what you buy for the children you have to carry from the US or Canada in your luggage. A friend went to Salvation army surplus store in Vancouver and bought jackets for small children and they were much appreciated. We would book again with Dung Phan. mcgorr Posted February 14, 2015 #27 Share Posted February 14, 2015 We were on Oceania last year and took Dong Pham's tour with others onboard. It was an independent tour and Mr. Pham was conscientious about communicating in advance by email. As those said above, it was great! We highly recommend it - a full day seeing everything old & new (including a nice lunch) in a very interesting, bustling emerging city. The only negative was the morning rain - bring an umbrella or parka and anticipate puddles. Well worth it! We had an awful tour with a girl he sent to escort us. The information was lacking so much that we made up our own commentary and thus had a laugh. He did not refund even a part of it despite many emails from us complaining. Are you sure you're not talking about Zoom in Saigon? We did have a very poor (female) guide there. And I notice you have posted almost the same thing on that thread. Blue Serenity Posted March 9, 2015 #29 Share Posted March 9, 2015 March 2015 from the cruise ship HAL Volendam (Singapore - Hong Kong). During our stop in Nha Trang a group of 9 people took the full day Town and Countryside tour provided by Dung Pham. We all found the tour to be excellent with a varied itinerary and extremely well organised. This tour exceeded our expectations, and the guide and particularly the very happy boat operator made our day. The tour of the orphanage was very touching and we gained a lot of insight into the Vietnamese way of life. Lunch was fantastic with plenty of variety. The tour was definitely value for money and we would highly recommend using Dung Pham for tours of Nha Trang and surrounding areas. Thanks Dung for your excellent tour. :)

usetobemoss Posted June 5, 2015 #31 Share Posted June 5, 2015 I organized this tour with Pham. It was on Sunday, April 5, 2015. Our guide was Cai and our driver was Toy. We had excellent directions on how and where to meet. The tour was wonderful. I would say it was enjoyed by all and one of the best we had while on board the Millennium for 45 days. What I liked most was that we went to actual places, a house where the family made Conical hats, a house where they weaved mats, a factory where they made rice noodles. Everyone said they'd never eat those again, but a couple of hours later there we were eating away. The orphanage was interesting, although it was a Sunday and quiet. I wish I had known to bring some of the things they could use at the orphanage, but there were 12 of us on the tour and before we left I took up a collection and gave a wonderful donation to the woman in charge. She was very appreciative. Our stop at the Amitabh Buddha, the White Buddha, for pictures and our guides explanation was good. We stopped at the ancient house and had fresh fruit and tea. And our ride on the river to our lunch was fantastic and lunch was great. The boys voted to skip the embroidery factory, but we did stop at the DAM market for some shopping and ice cream. I would highly recommend this tour. And I hope you will enjoy it as much as we did.

emblata Posted May 28, 2017 #44 Share Posted May 28, 2017 I wish togive the highest commendation to Dung Pham’s River Tours which we did in March2017. I organised a group of people (8)to do this tour the day the Princess ship was in port at Nha Trang. I found Dung’s tour from searching theinternet to discover the best one day tour in Nha Trang, and the comments forthis tour were plentiful and exceedingly good. During allthe preparation time in the preceding few months, I needed to check a number ofthings with Dung, including the addition of more people, and the thing thatamazed me, was that I always had a reply back in a matter of hours. The careful attention to people’s requestswas delightful when one is planning a tour. I can not commend Dung high enough for his professional attitude. Any one who deals with Dung Pham will findthat same commendable response. When thetour day came, all in my group except me (the organiser) went on shore but Iwas held up by a mishap in the Princess organisation. Dung collected the 7 people for the tour andsent them on their way with a tour guide, but he waited for me with a taxiuntil I could get off the ship. Thattook nearly an hour. How many tourcompanies would do that? I was so deeplyimpressed at the decency of this man and his attitude. He took me to join the group and called in onus during the day to check all was going well (which it was). His one dayRiver Tour is very well described on the internet, and arrangements made withhim are flawless. We had the very bestday any group could have. We dideverything that was mentioned in the description – (Inspirational PagodaOrphanage, Bakery, Sedge Mat Weaving, Amitabha Buddha statue at a height of 68meters, Rice paper - Noodles making ( phở ), bánh ướt, bánh hỏi, Conical hatmaking, 200 year old ancient house, Lunch at a riverside restaurant). If you aresearching for what to do in Nha Trang, you must do this tour. You will not fine a more capable man than DungPham. Regards Ron

Cruiser3592SD Posted January 9, 2018 #48 Share Posted January 9, 2018 Along with 12 or 14 other passengers from the Volendam, my wife and I joined Dung Pham's "Countryside Tour + River Cruise" in mid-December for a tour of Nha Trang and its environs. It was a first rate, highly professional operation, precisely organized from start to finish and chock full of a wide range of sights and experiences that showed us the life of the people of Nha Trang and their culture and traditions. Also included was a delicious Vietnamese lunch at a restaurant on the banks of the Cai River which gave us the opportunity to contemplate what we had been seeing while we ate and watched the river flow. Best of all, though, was our guide, Huy. Not only was he a store of knowledge about--and proud of--his city, its people, its traditions and its cultural heritage, he was a warm and engaging human being with a ready smile and a terrific sense of humor (in English!) who made even experiences that might be considered "cheesy" or "touristy"--a visit to a family which made the conical paper hats worn by farmers and peasants, a visit to a small, primitive factory which produces rice noodles--into interesting encounters with Vietnamese culture and traditions. He was always patient, always kind, always attentive to our needs and ready to answer our questions. It was a long tour, yet he extended it at the end so that we could explore the Night Market in Nha Trang (at the same time being sure to warn us about what to avoid and what to be aware of), then extended it once again and had the driver take us elsewhere in the city when my wife wanted to look for a particular item she could not find at the Night Market. To sum up: We went on several shore excursions during our Southeast Asia cruise. This one was, quite simply, the best. We highly, highly recommend it. Thanks, Huy. Thanks, Dung Pham. Copperdog Posted February 28, 2018 #49 Share Posted February 28, 2018 We just returned from our Oceania cruise that included Nha Trang. Mr. Pham had sent me information about a tour and although we didn't have the 10 people he wanted he still honored the price and didn't cut corners in any way. It was one of the best tours we had the entire trip. The itinerary was wonderful and had lots of variety. Our guide "Danny" was wonderful. You cannot go wrong with Dung Pham's tour. talentscout16 Posted March 16, 2018 #50 Share Posted March 16, 2018 We just returned from our HAL Volendam cruise with a stop in Nha Trang. Mr. Pham was very helpful pre cruise in booking my group we arrived, exited the port and walked to the assigned meeting point where we met our guide Mr Hien. we were asked to come off the ship as a group but one couple didn't meet us so we wasted 30 minutes waiting for them. we got to the van and they were seated waiting for usThis tour was one of the best tours as we stopped to see local people in their own environment. The itinerary was wonderful. Our guide Mr Hien was great - he did everything he could to make our day great. the boat ride, lunch, home visits, etc were all great. only one place was closed in our off port time - 12pm arrival.Book with Dung Pham for a great tour experience.
