Fisherwoman Posted November 10, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 10, 2012 A friend returned from the October 13th Canada New England cruise on the Caribbean Princess. She told me the dining room was NEVER open for breakfast or lunch during the cruise. I know they close on port days for lunch but can anyone tell me if they were closed for the entire cruise? paul929207 Posted November 10, 2012 #2 Share Posted November 10, 2012 One of the MDRs is open for breakfast every morning. Something like 7 to 9. One of the MDRs is open for lunch on sea days. Something liike Noon to 1:30. Exxact times and which MDR are shown in the Princess Patter each day.
bendar06 Posted November 10, 2012 #3 Share Posted November 10, 2012 Cruised the Transatlantic on the Ruby and the Emerald this year and had breakfast in one of the MDR's regularly. In fact, I preferred the MDR, as opposed to the HC, for breakfast because it was served and I usually ate less! BTW, we usually had room-service coffee in the cabin beforehand. Lunch was often soup and salad in the HC; the soups were, as a rule, very good.
caribill Posted November 10, 2012 #4 Share Posted November 10, 2012 There are three dining rooms on the Caribbean Princess and only one of them is used for breakfast and lunch. Maybe your friend was going to the wrong dining room. The Patter each day lists the name, location and hours of breakfast and lunch in the dining room. If your friend still has a Patter, she should look at the last page and see what is listed. (As mentioned in an above post, dining room lunch is only on embarkation day and on sea days.)
