Just wondering when traveling to let's say cozumel...traveling with traveler's checks for purchases more so for souveniors...Would the store merchants give you american money in change or peso's? t-town Posted May 26, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 26, 2005 they will give you american money - but be careful not to give them too large of a bill or they will not have enough change and will either resort to pesos or raise the price. the pursers office will cash travelers checks for you and you can request small bills.
