Rare May B Posted November 12, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 12, 2012 I did a search but couldn't find current info. Is it fairly common for balcony cabin guests to smoke on their balconies on Liberty? Is the pool deck totally non-smoking now?
dirtgirl Posted November 12, 2012 #2 Share Posted November 12, 2012 It is luck of the draw as regards smokers on the balcony. ;) You could have people smoking on the balcony - or not - you won't know until you get there. The pool is smoking on one side and non-smoking on the other, unless that has been completely changed.
Coralc Posted November 12, 2012 #3 Share Posted November 12, 2012 It is fairly common for me to smoke on my balcony, no matter which ship I am on. But I have no plans to sail on Liberty, so I shouldn't be a problem on your cruise. :D:):D
Gonzo70 Posted November 12, 2012 #4 Share Posted November 12, 2012 RCI has an outdated 20th Century smoking policy. If you are used to being in smoke free environments, have a strong sense of smell and dislike cigarette smoke RCI is not a good choice. Princess, NCL and Celebrity all have much more reasonable policies among mass market lines.
cnd crsr Posted November 12, 2012 #5 Share Posted November 12, 2012 I just completed a TA on the Liberty and could hardly believe how many areas were smoking venues! Most bars were smoking and everywhere you went smelled smoky. Needless to say there was much complaining. I will not sail on RCI again unless they change their smoking policy. ricthemic Posted February 12, 2013 #7 Share Posted February 12, 2013 we just got off the jewel yesterday feb 11, 2013. we are platnium members but had not cruised for five years. had a nice balcony and good time EXCEPT for the balcony smokers some what near us we assume (cigars too). Had to keep shutting the door. This is defineitly a deal breaker for us to consider RCCL in the future. Also the smokers rooms must smell like cigarette smoke (why wd they shut their door) so we could not imagine walking into our room having it smell like a hotel room that allows smokers. We put it on our cruise review and talked to many others on board that were also disappointed with the balconey smokers. Do the new RCCL allow balony smoking? Hope more people encourage them to update their policy and understand how bad second hand smoke is. They are lucky their employees in the casino and other areas aren't taking action.
