lone Posted December 3, 2012 #1 Share Posted December 3, 2012 In the main dinning room where we had dinner 7 out of 8 nights, we were not served a dinner that was more than luke warm at best. The only food served hot was an excellent French Onion Soup. One evening our food was placed on the waiter's station only to sit there for nine minutes, during which time our waiter was trying to accomodate other tables. The dinning room was seriously understaffed. The waiters were great but under lots of pressure to satisfy guests who should have been allowed a leasurley hot dinner with bread, water and coffee available when desired, not when you reluctantly had to stop an hurried waiter. The staff and guests suffered from poor, very poor, management.
Krazy Kruizers Posted December 14, 2012 #2 Share Posted December 14, 2012 Don't know how often you cruise. But we have noticed cutbacks in staff on HAL as well over the years. Service is very slow in the dining room. Yes -- food sits for quite while in the service area. And now HAL has cut back wine stewards in the dining room. The waiters have to now take the drink orders as the wine stewards only handle bottles of wine -- nothing else.
Canadian Cruiser98 Posted March 26, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 26, 2014 We sailed on the Carnival Breeze too and it was the first and last time we sail with Carnival. Our food always took a long time and was cold when it got to us too. I agree that they're understaffed.
Redcat Posted April 14, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 14, 2014 Sailed on Breeze last year had no problem but everyone has a different experience next time could be great just like in regular eateries at home.
onthelake Posted April 15, 2014 #5 Share Posted April 15, 2014 On the first night of a recent cruise, the couple at the next table called over the maitre'd to complain that their meal was not hot. . . And they were served first every night after that. Just a hint.
otisishere Posted May 6, 2014 #6 Share Posted May 6, 2014 We were on the Breeze in December 2013. We ate 3 nights in the dining room and the food was hot and very good. We do not eat early which may help with how busy they are and the service was excellent. The Breeze is the only ship we want to sail on now, it has definitely spoiled us. :D
Luvfuninthesun Posted May 18, 2014 #7 Share Posted May 18, 2014 We were on the Breeze in March. We did not have a problem with the food, but the service in the dining room was awful! We will never sail on this ship again! We are now booked again with Royal Caribbean. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Jemery Posted May 25, 2014 #8 Share Posted May 25, 2014 We were on the disastrous October 25, 2012 Carnival Breeze cruise in the Med, and the only thing we didn't have a complaint about was the food in the MDR and teatime; both were very well done. Almost two years later and we still have bad feelings about that cruise and Carnival. -John
mashb Posted January 10, 2015 #9 Share Posted January 10, 2015 We sailed in March 2014 and will be back on the Breeze in June 2015. We had great service and the food was exceptional. Believe me, we know good food, and for the bargain price we were impressed. We are trying Princess Regal in March and are hoping we have the same experience. bonvoyagebites Posted May 4, 2015 #10 Share Posted May 4, 2015 Sailed on the Breeze in May 2013. I had a wonderful experience with the MDR and other restaurants on board! I don't recall having anything arrive cold or the service being slow. I would be pretty bummed out over that too!
tinkr2 Posted July 10, 2015 #11 Share Posted July 10, 2015 My hubby went on Carnival Breeze with a big bad attitude, He thought it would be terrible. We really liked it and would go back. We had very nice service and the food was fine. The food was excellent in the Italian restaurant .We have had worst service in Chops the last 2 times. kyrisong1 Posted January 10, 2016 #12 Share Posted January 10, 2016 We always choose Your Time Dining and have found that the best solution. There are some servers that will save time and distance by squirelling the entrees in a serving cabinet. Those are the meals that will be luke warm. We typically find a energetic server that seems to like what he or she is doing, they will serve the food hot and really care about the diners experience. We always look for someone like this and then request them night after night even if we need to wait a little, it really does depend on the server on whether or not your food is hot or not. Good luck in the future!! Carole
