maddmaxx Posted June 2, 2005 #1 Share Posted June 2, 2005 Booked on the Pride of America for an August trip and am interested in attending a Laua in Lahaina, Maui... any seasoned Hawaiin cruisers ever make the trip from the port to Lahaina? Not opposed to renting a car and making the drive but the thought of indulging in a rum or two or three and heading back to the ship in the wee hours doesn't excite me much... any suggestion or anyone familiar with traveling from the port to other points in Maui? safein Posted June 4, 2005 #2 Share Posted June 4, 2005 We were on the Infinity in April and we went to the Old Lahaina Luau. We got there at 5:45PM and were out of there approximately by 8:45PM. If you're renting a car, that's a good thing because you'd find a crowd trying to get cabs back to the terder site. There should still be quite a lot of people at that time on Front Street, so you won't be travelling at alone. Have fun and bring your appetite!!!!! They have loads of food and the drinks do flow freely. Anita
bobnsandi Posted June 6, 2005 #3 Share Posted June 6, 2005 because you'd find a crowd trying to get cabs back to the terder site. The Pride of Americal will be docked at Kahului Harbor, not tendered. At that time of day, figure 45 minutes to an hour to get from Lahaina to Kahului. Whatever you do, enjoy! Maddmaxx, have you considered booking the Luau as a shore excursion? That might include transport to & from Lahaina. Cabfare will run you at least $45 each way.
