wr813 Posted January 14, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 14, 2013 My sister wants me to bring her back some cigarettes(Marlboro Medium and Marlboro Menthol lights). Does Celebrity sell them cheaper on the cruise ship than the US stores? Also, how many cartons can I get for her duty free from the ship and from Cozumel? Alg63 Posted January 14, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 14, 2013 Tell her they are $200 a pack.. And that you love her too much to help her kill herself.

That is the best answer. :p She's going to smoke them anyway so I might as well save her a few $$
GranthamMommy Posted January 14, 2013 #5 Share Posted January 14, 2013 A google search showed, one carton duty free. Additional cigarettes- $1.01 per pack for "small" cigarettes and $2.11 for "large cigarettes" http://www.ttb.gov/tax_audit/atftaxes.shtml
Wylie Coyote Posted January 15, 2013 #6 Share Posted January 15, 2013 I am not a smoker..but remember seeing giant cartons of cigarettes in the shops on board. I think it was 20 packs for 40$.... 20 packs i understand is the most you can legally bring through customs without taxing. If you want 2 giant cartons..you and your travel mate pack one each...and be sure to complete 2 custom cards..one each showing max... not the family card... you will know what i mean...at the end of the cruise. I traveled with a friend who smokes...and do not buy them in cozemel... you do not get a great discount. He paid 4$ a pack...and was not happy thinking he would get a great discount. hancock Posted January 15, 2013 #7 Share Posted January 15, 2013 The price varies according to where your ship is sailing. In the Caribbean, the smokes are cheap. Cigarettes are more expensive on cruises in Europe.
