nvcruise Posted January 30, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 30, 2013 If it becomes necessary to cancel dinner reservations at Maurano on the same day of the reservation, do you forfeit the entire $40 cover per person? Even if due to illness?
reilly1 Posted January 30, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 30, 2013 Last July on Eclipse, we had to cancel dinner at Tuscan Grill due to illness (short lived, thank goodness). They refunded our full fee - not sure if this is policy or just good luck.
kyriecat Posted January 30, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 30, 2013 I don't have my dailies from Silhouette anymore, but I thought there was a $10 pp fee listed for cancelling less than 24 hours before your reservation. Of course, that is usually at the discretion of the maitre d'. I haven't had to cancel or change any reservations on Celebrity, but on RC I had good luck with them waiving the cancellation fees a couple of times. Once we had taken a ship excursion that returned a couple hours late due to a traffic jam. We arrived onboard with only 15 minutes to clean up and make our reservation. We talked to the maitre d' who couldn't fit us in later that night but was able to change us to a different night. We weren't charged any fee for changing. Another time my husband caught salmonella onboard and was too sick to dine. Several other people became ill onboard that day so it was obvious that there was an outbreak. We weren't charged to cancel that time even though we didn't reschedule.
MoYerclan Posted January 30, 2013 #4 Share Posted January 30, 2013 I think they note on reservation reminder cards left in your stateroom that they'd like you to cancel at least 24 hours out, and if not they *may* charge you up to 50%. I never heard them do it though?
