elou Posted January 30, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 30, 2013 I've been on Oasis before on Deck 6 o/s balcony. Why do most people say Deck 8 is better. I do not go to any pay restaurants. Please explain why you think it is better? My friends want to go with us, but prefer to pay less money. I suggested Central Park without balcony on Deck 9. They really do not want to hear any noise. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Beth C Posted January 30, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 30, 2013 Convenience mainly... Firstly and most importantly - Walking thru Central Park rather than down the long hallways of cabins if you need to go FWD or AFT Quick run to Park Cafe in the morning for coffee/tea or later for a drink/snack if hanging out in your cabin Far enough away but also close enough to the Promenade for the stair climbers ;) I've done 8 twice now and regardless of my cabin type I would pick 8... Unless it was a freebie sky loft or something ;) Sent from my Speak & Spell using Tapatalk
sherilyn70 Posted January 30, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 30, 2013 Deck 8 is perfectly situated. You have the lovely park to enjoy and walk through, you have the park cafe with excellent breakfast and lunches. You have easy access to both the promenade and the boardwalk as well. I loved our D1 balcony on the 8,
rednancy1 Posted January 30, 2013 #4 Share Posted January 30, 2013 Deck 8 is a great location. Close to Central Park and the Park Cafe and a quick elevator ride to the dining room or the concierge lounge. :)

GXmanDC Posted January 30, 2013 #6 Share Posted January 30, 2013 We chose Deck 8 for both of our Allure cruises. As people said above, it is close to Park Cafe, I like walking the length of the ship through Central Park.
Silvery Seas Cruiser Posted January 30, 2013 #7 Share Posted January 30, 2013 We have stayed on both Deck 6 and Deck 8 and we like them both. Both have their advantages. I'd gladly stay on either one again.
sleepless Posted January 30, 2013 #8 Share Posted January 30, 2013 I like deck 6. I have stayed there on the Oasis, and will again on the Allure in July. Just aft of the aft elevator, in a balcony cabin. Great location'; Boardwalk is there for morning coffee, blue sky and ocean view. Central location between Central Park, and Royal Promenade, and jogging/walking track. Close to Main Dining Room. And, of course close to the ocean. OPSoccermom Posted January 31, 2013 #9 Share Posted January 31, 2013 We were on Deck 7 for our first Oasis cruise at Christmas 2009. Since then, we have cruised Oasis/ Allure several times, and we swear by Deck 8. It is both convenient and nice to have Central Park to cross thorugh. In addition to the specialty restaurants and the Park Cafe, there is also the wonderful wine bar to enjoy as well as the Central Park bar, which is convenient if you want a few drinks to enjoy on your balcony. There are times when the elevators can get a bit crowded and it is nice to be close enough to walk to the Promenade, Boardwalk, etc., and have easy access to the Rising Tide bar. We are booked on Allure for the upcoming holidays and are once again on Deck 8.
