Free Norwegian Cruise from Total Rewards

Hi all! I have read the other threads on this topic, but I am wondering if anyone has used their voucher from TR recently. My boyfriend and I are supposed to go to AC in a couple of weeks to pick his up from Caesar's. I found out some info from TR Marketing and from Norwegian, and it seems that we should have a choice of the cruises listed on his mailer and that the only blackout dates are holiday weeks. OK, now that I've sufficiently babbled, what I'd really love to know is if anyone has used their voucher for the Boston to Bermuda cruise on the Dawn. What did it end up costing you for taxes and fees? If you upgraded, how much was that per person? I have also seen conflicting info about the free drink cards for use in the casino. Are they still provided to people who book the "comped" TR cruises? Thanks in advance for any info anyone can provide! :)

I received a voucher in July from Showboat, it listed the ships you are allowed to use it on and I had to sail by March, so I am assuming you have to cruise within 9 months. We are doing the Dawn out of Tampa March 17th doing the Western Caribbean. The voucher was for an inside room valued at $549 pp (before tax and port charges), we upgraded to an oceanview for an additional $100 pp, when all was said and done the cruise for two of us came to $750.00. To me it's more like a buy 1 get 1 free.

I have another offer at Harrah's on February 17th which mentioned the Breakaway, so I guess I will take another trip to get the voucher and keep my fingers crossed that I can use it on the Breakaway.

Good luck in AC and enjoy your cruise!

My husband (Diamond level TR) and I picked up TR cruise voucher this past weekend in Tunica, MS. It had several trip options to include Bermuda, Caribbean, Europe and Alaska. After researching all the destination options, available dates and ships, we chose and are booked for the maiden voyage of Getaway from Miami on 2/1/2014 to Eastern Caribbean. During the booking process the NCL agent seemed surprised this was available through a casino offer. But after checking she stated everything was good to go!! We are SO excited...upgraded to a balcony and may go on up to mini suite when the time gets closer. Regardless of any additonal charges, taxes, etc is is a great comp!!

Thanks for the information about your bookings! We are heading to Caesar's AC on Feb. 17 to pick up my boyfriend's voucher. The mailing says it's good for the Dawn to Bermuda so we're keeping our fingers crossed for that because there is a sailing when he has vacation this summer. Here's to getting stuff for gambling! Enjoy your cruises, and good luck at the casinos! :D

Beachmonkey, we can't figure out the criteria for the offer. My boyfriend is a mid-level Platinum player and the offer just showed up. I read the fine print on it and it actually said something about the offer not directly correlating to tier score or player's club level, which seemed odd. Info I've seen on the message boards here also makes it unclear as to who receives the offers. We do visit Atlantic City pretty frequently; I am not sure whether that is a factor. Whatever the reason, we're excited! The people at Total Rewards marketing are always so nice. They can't always answer all questions, but it couldn't hurt to call them if you want more info 1-800-542-7724.

Does anyone have any updates on this free offer from Total Rewards? I received an offer by email for a free cruise but from the sounds of the instructions I have to pick up the voucher in person by March 21, 2013, which I can't do. But we have plans on heading to Atlantic City in the middle of April. Does anyone know if they extend these offers?

Anyone who has booked - do they limit you to a few cruises or is it open to anything you want. I understand that it is an inside cabin but can you upgrade to a balcony?

Any info would be appreciated.

You must show up in person the date listed on your "invitation." They provide you a certificate number that you will tell the agent when you call in to reserve. Not sure if they extend the offers or anything... maybe if you give your host a call they could give you a little more details and arrange something for you. There are Casinos at Sea representatives at the event so I think that's why it's usually just the one or two day thing. (My experience is from Harrah's Rincon-San Diego, by the way, so it could be difference in AC).

They do give a certain list of cruises that you can select from. Different people get different cruise options. Most are just offered interior cabins, but some have been offered higher categories. You do have the option of upgrading, and it depends on the cruise as to the price, but it's very reasonable ... but I like the idea of a free cruise better. :)

You pay all taxes and port fees... for a Caribbean cruise it ends up being around $250-$300 per person I believe (interior room).

You will receive two free drink cards in your stateroom. You do not have to have the "free" cruise offer to get this free drink card either - if you utilize the TR tier discount and you are Platinum level or higher then you also receive the free drink card. (I believe there has been some rumor that this is going away soon?? Gold members do not receive the free drink card.)

My boyfriend and I went to Caesar's AC in February and got the voucher. You have to get it on the day and time listed. They'll give you the list of cruises and an information booklet on the various sailings. We had to book within 2 months (approximately) and sail within a year.

You are limited to the itineraries listed on your voucher and ours was for an inside cabin, as I think most are. There was actually a really good variety of itineraries, including the brand new Breakaway, IF you can sail whenever you want. I am a teacher and my bf is a cop, though, so I cannot take off and he has to pick vacations way in advance. He always takes off a week in the summer when I am off. For his offer, being limited to a summer sailing means we booked the Sky out of Miami for a 4 night Bahamas cruise. Not the most glamorous, but we wanted to cruise anyway, he's never gone before, and we might as well gamble on the ocean! Lol.

Regarding cost, I had seen many things on here, but this is how it broke down. The taxes and fees were $200pp. The inside would have cost us $400 total. But go big or go home, right? :) We booked a mid-ship balcony for $200pp. The total was $800 for the whole thing. The cost will vary based on the itinerary, but i think a fair estimate is the equivalent to one fare. Hardly free, but I'll take a deal equivalent to a BOGO! Plus, as tweakes mentioned, we'll get our drink cards for the casino which makes me one happy cruiser!

Good luck with your offer...I hope that you'll be able to use it if the deal sounds good to you!

My boyfriend and I got the email for the free cruise and were told we had to go to Atlantic City to pick up the voucher. I called our local Casino here in Philadelphia and they told us we had to drive to AC, but my boyfriend drove to the local casino and was able to pick up the voucher there. The evening we had our vouchers we called NCL and booked our cruise. We combined our two offers to get an ocean view balcony. We are going on the NCL Pearl 3/31-4/7. This is our first cruise and we are both super excited. For all the port fees and taxes it was a little over $500 per person plus the cost of airfare from Philadelphia to Miami. Once you add in all the airfare and taxes, its not quite a free cruise....oh well.

I received an offer for a comped night at a Total Rewards casino in Atlantic City. During my stay I get a voucher for a free cruise. Anyone know if there's a minimum number of nights for which the cruise is offered? I can't seem to get an answer on this from Caesar's AC. I live in CT and if the cruise is only for two nights from Florida, it's not really worth it to me since I would have to fly to Florida.

CTgirl, you'll get a list of cruises that are being offered to you. They'll leave from various East Coast ports and be for varying lengths. That being said, if you don't have a lot of flexibility in sailing dates, you won't be guaranteed to be able to book a longer cruise. My bf and I can only go in the summer because I am a teacher and he is a cop and has to pick his vacation dates months in advance. In theory, we could have picked lots of longer cruises with his offer, but we're doing the 4-night Sky out of Miami. If you're in the mood for an AC trip, I'd say definitely go pick it up to look into your options; it's a good deal!

Thanks so much! I haven't played in at least a year, so I was surprised I even got an offer. I was just worried that I would be eligible for only two nights from a port six states away. I think I'm in the mood for an AC trip. :) It's been a long time.

Just an update for anyone who is still curious about how this works...my BF got yet another cruise offer from TR. This one said it would have to be booked within 2 months and sailed within 6 months. We decided to take another ride to AC as we had comps anyway and because we really had our hearts set on Bermuda and were hoping this voucher might offer different options. We lucked out and it did! Not only Bermuda this time, but also the Gem out of NYC. We were also still within the time period when we could change with no penalty. We chose Bermuda, and it was by no means free as we decided to be spoiled brats and book a balcony :p We still saved at least $1300 off what it would have cost to book the trip on our own. Great deal, as far as I'm concerned, and it would have been way cheaper if we kept the inside cabin. Bottom line is, if you're torn about picking up a TR offer, go for it. It saves a lot of money and we'll also be getting cards that will get us free drinks in the casino :)

I'm happy to say I got my voucher and although the list of cruises was limited, I still ended up with Boston to Bermuda for 7 days. I upgraded from the inside cabin. Even though it cost me 700.00 with the upgrade, fees and gratuities, it still saved me about 900.00!

I live less than 30 minutes from the casinos at Tunica, but I haven't been playing as much at the Harrahs properties; lately I've been going to Fitzgerald's or Hollywood. Did certain levels in the TR program get this offer? I haven't received one and think it is probably that I don't have enough play on my card.

In my opinion, rewards programs are are strange animal. I played once Harrah's Atlantic City in the last two years (spent about 600.00 total) and got a voucher for a free cruise, inside cabin. It wasn't a huge selection, but I got a 7 night cruise to Bermuda from a port close by. Family members who played more that I did didn't get anything.

As stated my husband is Diamond level with Harrah's and has been for several years. This was his first cruise offer but he has since received another one but travel date options were not workable for us. We are hoping that after sailing on the Getaway's inaugural 2/1/2014and he has established play with Casinos At Sea he will receive offers from CAS directly. We'll see...it would be nice to have additional travel options because it is hard to pay for hotel rooms when you are always comped with Harrah's!!

After you play on the Getaway you can call them as well to find out what you qualify for. Although they do send postcards, if you are arated player you can get something on virtually any sailing with them. I find the worst offers are on newest ships, NY port, and probably holiday sailings.

Since you live right near NOLA....it could be perfect:)

I got my first cruise certificate last Christmas in Las Vegas. It was one called Bring a friend (Total Rewards Virgin). 100 new TR members get a cruise certificate for 2. We could not find anyone for that date, but picked our certificate up. We booked the Breakaway for Oct.

We got or second one in March. I figure it was because we booked the cruise. This was the same deal, bring a friend to Las Vegas. We met someone on line that we gave the free room to. We was given the free cruise certificate even before the drawing time. I don't think people bring anyone so he won by default. He had better choises than we where given but we are booked on the same cruise for Jan on the Dawn.

In April I was given a e-mail for a cruise certificate. You just needed to pick it up. No information was given and you could pick it up at any TR desk. Las Vegas is my closest casino. They gave you a voucher with a phone number. Over the phone you are given dates and ships that are available. I did not use this voucher because you had to sail right way. Many of the dates where like a week or two away.

I am picking up a 4th certificate this weekend. This offer includes a drawing for two addition certificates for your family. This offer looks like the first two that I got as far as choices of ships and desinations.

On Labor Day I will be picking up a 5th cruise certificate. It has the Epic that was not on my other offers. Other than that it looks the same. I wish they would give me new disignations.

I sure hope I like to cruise.

We just drove from Miami after using 2 free cruise certificates and drove straight to Vegas to get another one! Have until July 28 2014 to use this one!

Woohoo! That's dedication lol. We just got back from using one on the Dawn last week. I can't imagine why anyone would complain about it not being 100% free...duh, of course you have to pay something! We saved so much on the fare and drinks, not to mention had no check-in line and the casino welcome party, it's a total no-brainer to use these things. My boyfriend just got another one the day after we got back, and the pick-up happens to be when we're already going to AC. This one is only good for 6 months, so we can't use it, but we're picking it up because they give away $500 to five people once the pick-up is over for the day!

Going onbAlaska cruise in Sept. I upgraded but figure the savings about 2000

A pretty good comp. I understand if you put a 250 deposit down on next cruise you get a$100 on board credit, so will probably do that as its good for 4 years and sure TR will be doing more of these.
