elou Posted February 10, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2013 Looking for something different to do for myself. Just wondered if it was more for children.
nyytflyyr Posted February 21, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2013 The wife and I did this a year ago and found it quite interesting and enjoyable. It is easy walking from the ship dock about 1-2 blocks from Senior Frogs. There are several recreations of pirate life with some animation and special effects. Also many artifacts and historical displays with descriptive signage and some audio presentations. It has a courtyard with stockades and other displays which are good for pictures. I would compare it to a simpler version of a US public museum. It takes about a hour to go thru. The best part is the pirate ship which has great interior and exterior detail depicting life on a ship. As a mature adult I found it to be fun and educational but it is not for young children, it tries to explain the real life of real pirates. They do have a small gift shop and as with everything in Nassau it's expensive. If you go to their website you may find discount coupons for admission as we did. If you enjoy history or want to get some very unique pictures go. Also bring a camera with a good flash and zoom features as some of the details are amazing.
