puzzums Posted February 20, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2013 Hi All, My final port of call on my RCCL Panama Canal cruise will be Cabo San Lucas and we'll be there on Easter Sunday. Does anyone know what we can expect in port? ie: will souvenir shops and restaurants be open and all other things touristy?
cabo helper Posted February 21, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2013 For Semana Santa (or Holy Week), most places are open as usual. The only big exception is the activity in the bay. The port captain sets restrictions because of the unusually large crowds in/on the beach. Basically no boats/jet skis/kayaks are allowed on the beach on the Medano Beach side of the bay. The other side (along the rocks) is open from the mouth of the channel to Lovers Beach area. But we have a new port captain so his rules may change :) In the past few years, all kayaks, small boats including parasailing, jet skis, banana ride boats etc were banned from Good Thursday thru Easter Sunday anywhere in the bay and kayaks were not even allowed at Chileno or Sta. Maria. The weather is usually fabulous here so you should have a wonderful time!
