bklynangel Posted February 26, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2013 Anyone ever stay in these rooms? Is there a window? What's the obstructed view? Is the room quiet? Diane
Rare Essiesmom Posted February 27, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 27, 2013 I stayed in 7203 for 14 days. The entrance hallway is a little more narrow than usual, you couldn't open the bathroom door all the way. If you are a generous sized person, it would be a squeeze. There is a public deck outside your window, not much used as it is windy when sailing. The railing on that deck is about chest height on a short woman, so it obstructs your view. The cabin was fine, but it is under the bridge, and I could hear a toilet flushing. When the water was a bit rough, it felt like we were hitting every pothole. susie8862 Posted February 27, 2013 #3 Share Posted February 27, 2013 Anyone ever stay in these rooms? Is there a window? What's the obstructed view? Is the room quiet? Diane We have had these cabins many times. We truly love them for the value....and it is great to walk out to that deck when departing ports for the most amazing views and photo opts. There is one downfall that I have read about however. If you choose the END cabins, you could possibly hear the doors that lead out to the deck slamming, as the wind sometimes takes over. Get a cabin in the middle of the row.:o
Rare Essiesmom Posted February 27, 2013 #4 Share Posted February 27, 2013 The end cabins are usually HC accessible, and I now for certain those on deck 7 cannot have the beds put together. Have pics to prove it. And another that did allow the beds together had storage the size of one tall gym locker. Have pics of that, also. cvpends Posted February 28, 2013 #5 Share Posted February 28, 2013 The 4J's are a great deal! I would definitely book one for the value. 9201 is cozy and has a steward's supply closet next to it, and the steward starts making loud noises at zero dark thirty every morning. Here are some photos:
Engineerstar Posted February 6, 2014 #6 Share Posted February 6, 2014 Hello bklynangle. Which cabin# did you end up with? Was it quiet surrounding it?
candigirl Posted February 16, 2014 #7 Share Posted February 16, 2014 I had 9203 after booking an inside guarantee so I was thrilled with the big bathroom (HC). It is too windy to go out to the "secret deck" while underway, but very nice while in port. The obstruction is simply the height of the railing, nothing else. One night heading up from Puerta Vallarta, the wind and waves were crazy and the box for the fire extinguisher kept making banging noises. I called and asked for them to check it out and no one came. So my son and I braved the elements and went out on the deck and wedged folded up pieces of the fun times in there to stop the racket. Would book it again except I don't need a handicap cabin so I enjoyed my 1 time only fluke placement in 9203.
DONDON55 Posted May 6, 2014 #8 Share Posted May 6, 2014 We sailed on the Splendor in Dec 2013. Our cabin was 9202 and our travelling companions were in 9201. we luved these cabins. Very roomy, huge bathroom, twin beds hooked together to make a king, being at the front of the ship it rocks you to sleep at night, never slept so good. Luved luved luved the "private" deck outside our cabins. not a lot of people know about it so it's like having your own balcony the width of the ship. does get a bit windy so be carefull at night. we sat out there leaving NYC as we passed under the Verazanno bridge, felt like we could touch the bridge......very cool ! The only thing I did not like is that even though it is a handicap room, it is a very long walk from the elevators.
mamalicious Posted March 4, 2015 #9 Share Posted March 4, 2015 I just booked room 9201. Hope I won't regret it. It's for a four day cruise. Just couldn't pass up on the price.
