Lyndaharve Posted September 1, 2016 #101 Share Posted September 1, 2016 Our last cruise last month went like this on an average day drink package suits us for sure Day time a couple of beers each a couple of Martinis each Evening before and with Dinner 4 cocktails before dinner each half a bottle of wine with dinner each Liquor such as sambuca or Brandy (2 each) Bars after Dinner About another 6 drinks each, mainly Harvey Wallbangers (Grey Goose Vodka), Chandon, or Hendricks Gin and Tonic And you would never see us drunk, spaced it out, ate between and only drink like it with friends and family on Cruises, and that's why the Drink Package is for us

At home I'm always so focused on gym, work and restoring cars that I may have a drink or two a week. Grabbing a mimosa at breakfast and drinks by the pool throughout the day is nice. He goes to the bar while I get ready for dinner so he's always got one on order for me when I get there. Then dinner and shows [emoji23] we never end up drinking in port, usually too busy Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Patrick999 Posted September 26, 2016 #103 Share Posted September 26, 2016 I always enjoy the drinks packages almost as much for the juices and specialty coffees, as I do for the alcohol. I try to maintain a modicum of health on cruises, so you'll typically find me constructing some sort of workout for myself in the gym or on the top deck during the day. When I really start hitting the booze, assuming I have a beverage package, is right before dinner. I will hit a bar and order as many Aperol and sodas, Campari and sodas as I can drink. These are usually not terribly strong drinks, so I'm not that buzzed at this point...they are refreshing herbal apertifs. At dinner, 1-2 glasses of wine. After, if I go to the show or hang out at a bar, I'll order something a bit more potent and go slower, taper off.
phill12386 Posted September 29, 2016 #104 Share Posted September 29, 2016 On my last cruise on the Getaway between the 5 of us we had in the neighborhood of 130 raspberry mojitos alone... our group really lokes to take advantage of that beverage package lol

dreadpirate3 Posted October 17, 2016 #106 Share Posted October 17, 2016 2-3 per day on the cruise plus coffee, water and soda. We bought the RCI replenish package as it includes specialty coffee, bottled water, soda, freshly squeezed juice, virgin drinks. We will bring two bottles of wine, probably both sparkling, and have mimosas in the morning, buy a cocktail or beer in the afternoon and another at night. I will definitely be drinking a lot of coffee as I drink 3+ cups a day at home and more on vacation.
jisduit Posted April 25, 2018 #107 Share Posted April 25, 2018 I get the drink package and is 15 drink limit - I have reached my limit a few days - my preference is Jack and sprite
zencruisers Posted April 25, 2018 #108 Share Posted April 25, 2018 I am not a big drinker but on a cruise I do enjoy it. On our last cruise (November 2017) on NCL's Getaway we each kept a daily log. At the end of 7 day cruise I was a 79 drinks.
dreadpirate3 Posted April 28, 2018 #109 Share Posted April 28, 2018 We drank more when at our all inclusive, and when finishing our drink card. Sent from my SM-G950U using Forums mobile app

CrayonLady Posted August 21, 2018 #112 Share Posted August 21, 2018 Hey, talking about drinking, does Celebrity allow liquor to be brought aboard for personal use in your cabin? Have cruised before, never on Celebrity. Have been able to bring on different cruise lines.
PigsCanFly Posted September 25, 2018 #113 Share Posted September 25, 2018 I travel with my wife and our 25 yo son. Wife no longer drinks and son may have a virgin daquari or a drinkOfTheDay 2 or 3 times per cruise. I, on the other hand may buy 1 drink per day. Now, when the casino is open... I am probably there. My drinks there are comped and I will drink rum & diet Coke or Stella Artois while I am at the tables (most of the time!) I may have a soda or water, but not very often. I tip every drink and the servers seem to appreciate that by visiting me often.
Rare Hlitner Posted September 25, 2018 #114 Share Posted September 25, 2018 Hey, talking about drinking, does Celebrity allow liquor to be brought aboard for personal use in your cabin? Have cruised before, never on Celebrity. Have been able to bring on different cruise lines. The answer is NO! Celebrity only allows passengers to bring aboard wine which is limited to 1 bottle per person at the embarkation port. I realize this is an older post, but it does deserve an answer. pc_load_letter Posted November 13, 2018 #116 Share Posted November 13, 2018 On 2/7/2016 at 6:20 PM, sparklies70 said: Sheesh. I drink literally all day, except if we're doing an active shore excursion. I used to do mimosas in the morning but haven't for the past few cruises so I can get more water in. I don't like hard alcohol so it's either wine, beer, or preferably champagne for me. On sea days, I'd say easily 13 drinks. Don't judge me [emoji30] I only drink Fridays and Saturdays when not on vacation! Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app This ^^^^ I drink all day. Bloody Mary or mimosa for lunch and on sea days, i will hit 15+. On excursion days, I will hit the bar as soon as I get back. I always put "Cheers" or whatever package to good use. cruising cockroach Posted November 13, 2018 #117 Share Posted November 13, 2018 On my next cruise, it will be a lot (a/i - French wines + spirits/liqueurs). Last one, on X, just the 4 bottles of wine + 2 mickeys of vodka we brought on board (no happy hour offered otherwise we'd have bought some) over 15 nts. Forgot the couple of glasses of sparkling wine offered. Previous HAL and Princess cruises, pretty much a bottle at dinner (corkage paid) every night and happy hour specials every couple of days + whatever we got for winning trivia.
Rare Alsmez Posted January 10, 2019 #118 Share Posted January 10, 2019 On the cruises I took before drink packages existed, maybe 4-5 drinks per day, including one or two cocktails and a couple of glasses of wine. We frequently booked drink-heavy excursions back then, though, so we did much more drinking off the ship. Now that drink packages reign supreme (and are almost always included as a perk in the cruise fare on Celebrity), we drink MUCH more onboard but rarely book excursions that involve a lot of alcohol. We tend to start our day with a mimosa or bloody Mary, enjoy a couple of glasses of wine with lunch, another couple in the afternoon, then a cocktail before dinner, 2-3 glasses of wine with, and scotch or another cocktail (or three) for after dinner. This is sea days only; port days we tend to drink less. It sounds like a lot but spread out and alternated with water, it really is just enough to keep up a gentle, all-day buzz. The only time either of us has ever gotten wasted was when my DH had his first-ever martini - followed quickly by his second-ever and third-ever martini - all on an empty stomach. Oops! Not a mistake he will ever make again!
