Bar package???

Hello All

 

Question re the new bar packages I have read about in some boards. Has anyone done this on a csrnival ship recently? I have been on about 30 cruises, but none in three years----I cannot seem to wrap my head around the packages and how they work on a cruise. It seems like an open bar but with restrictions?

 

In the past we always found a few bartenders and made "friends" with them.... We have found a few twenties go a long way as far as buy backs, being charged for three drinks when's ordered five, etc....

 

Any reviews re drink packages???

 

Going on splendor in may and trying to figure out if worth it. Thanks!
