Reputable jeweller

Recommended Posts

The selection of gold and gemstone jewelry in St. Thomas is but a mere fraction of what it used to be. Stores that used to have jam packed, full cases now sell t-shirts on the side. People have stopped buying much due to high gold/gemstone prices so the stores have lowered their inventory.

It's a shame as we used to love admiring the beautiful designs, settings, gems......

AH Riise has always had a reputation as reputable. They have some 'satelite' locations but the large store is Main Street, Charlotte Amalie.

One of our favorite jewelry stores is in Cruz Bay on St John, gorgeous Hook bracelets. Quality craftmanship and beautiful artwork and a much nicer area to shop than CA. If you happen to be there for a day or longer it's St John Bracelet.

Another vote for Cardow. Bought my wife's engagement ring there.

Cardow is the same as when we started going there 15 years ago and I know we'll be stopping there at least once when we stay on STT - that's a given. Great people and they're actually helpful rather than pushy.

Yes you can, although we were disappointed with the selection and quality on St Thomas.but we did see better choices last January while staying at Sapphire, a store in Red Hook has a selection and there may be more in Charlotte Amalie, not sure.

I mentioned St John Bracelet because of the quality of workmanship. The peening is superior to others and he can custom make one for you while you enjoy the island. Just watch for lesser quality in the cheaper stores.

We have been going to St. Thomas on a yearly cruise and always stop at Ballerina...On the main street In Charlotte Amalie....Great pieces and prices. They do not give a kick back to the ships so just be careful to stay away from shops the cruise line recommends as they will profit and you will pay for it....Have fun!!!
