cruisetime25 Posted March 8, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 8, 2013 We're going on The Emerald in a few weeks and I was wondering if it's possible to pre-reserve a massage at the Sanctuary before we leave. If not, do I book it as soon as we board or can I wait a day or two after?
DShock Posted March 8, 2013 #2 Share Posted March 8, 2013 No, you can't pre-book it...but Princess should allow some process to do so.
Pam in CA Posted March 8, 2013 #3 Share Posted March 8, 2013 If you plan to book it for the entire cruise, you should go up to the Sanctuary upon boarding. If you plan to book for a half or full day, you would go up to the Sanctuary the morning of the day. Pre-booking would be very complicated as you book a specific lounger that's "your's" for however long you book it. A system for pre-booking would have to take into account all possible variables for every lounger for every day and would be expensive to program. Probably not worth it to Princess. barbarah33 Posted March 8, 2013 #4 Share Posted March 8, 2013 You can't pre-book The Sanctuary. If you would like to reserve a chair for the entire cruise then you can do that as soon as you board the ship. If you are only interested in booking by the day, morning, or afternoon you have to wait until that specific day and go up to do it then.
cruisetime25 Posted March 8, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted March 8, 2013 Thanks all for the quick replies, I'll make the reservation for one day only on that specific day.
Amuse Bouche Posted March 8, 2013 #6 Share Posted March 8, 2013 Cruisetime25 was talking about a cabana massage, not a lounger reservation I think.
cruisetime25 Posted March 8, 2013 Author #7 Share Posted March 8, 2013 Yes, I really just wanted the massage but it looks like the only place to get it is in The Sanctuary. So, can I just book the massage or do I have to reserve the half day with your own lounge chair? Sorry, I'm not making this very clear, but I know I'll get the info for the massage right here. Loonbeam Posted March 8, 2013 #8 Share Posted March 8, 2013 Cabana Massages are booked via the Spa I believe and take place in the sanctuary area. I do not believe you need to purchase the Sanctuary for that time as you do not get lounger priveleges, etc with the massage.
suebob114 Posted March 9, 2013 #9 Share Posted March 9, 2013 We were on the Emerald last month. We always wait to be on board to book a massage. Suggest that you go to the spa and take the tour. There are always specials offered at that time. And, once you do something in the spa, you will receive discount offers in your mailbox, almost on a daily basis. And, when in port, there are always discounts to be had. Enjoy!:)
Pam in CA Posted March 10, 2013 #10 Share Posted March 10, 2013 I was on the Sapphire today for the BVE and had a couple of questions which they answered. First was whether you could book the next day just before closing the day before. No, you can't. My second question was whether all the loungers set aside for the full cruise were booked. No. They set aside 20 loungers for the full cruise and the rest are daily. Of the 20, only 8 had been booked for the full cruise by 2pm. He said that's pretty normal for the HI cruise but that in the Caribbean, they book quickly. He said that for the HI cruise, you don't have to rush there by 8am to book for the day or afternoon. He said before 10am was really quiet. Hope this info helps.
