Vivasea Posted October 25, 2021 #826 Share Posted October 25, 2021 Have sailed many times with Azamara Always try to book Continental Suite NI. We prefer suite with shower but have been in both and no complaints. For us personally we like to be 8049 area. Of course its what is available at booking. Always look at deck plan to see what you are underneath. You will be happy with Continental Suite.

aliaschief Posted December 8, 2021 #830 Share Posted December 8, 2021 We are veteran cruisers but new to Azamara and are booked on the 2024 World Cruise on MS Onward. We are booked in cabin 8033 which deck plans appear that part of Patio Cafe may be above us. Any thoughts from others who have had cabins underneath Patio Cafe on the other ships? Noise? Thanks! Looking forward to the Azamara experience.

Looking forward to the Azamara experience. Onwards deck 8 layout is different from the other 3 ships with more CC suites so 8033 on Onward would be roughly in the location of 8043 on the other ships. We’ve not cruised in that location yet although we’ve booked 8045 on Quest next August so hopefully it’s going to be ok. So you need to look at reviews for 8043 to get an idea of what 8033 on Onward might be like. As Onward won’t be sailing for Azamara until May 2022 there won’t be any reviews for that ship yet.

Thanks. We may have some chair moving noise above us which we have experienced before and has not bothered us. If we moved to port side we felt like there could be smell from smoking area which would bother us. Appreciate the heads up.

We just booked a Suite on Quest and they chose Deck 6 for us as best-available but there were tons available on 8. They chose 6054 for us which is ADA accessible (which we don’t need) so we thought it might be a bit bigger? Thoughts on mid-ship deck 6 vs. 8? Thanks in advance! Rare Host Jazzbeau Posted December 10, 2021 #836 Share Posted December 10, 2021 I don't like accessible suites for two reasons: • they should be saved for those who really need them [I realize the computer assigned you, so this is not a criticism of you] • the adaptations to the bathroom and other furniture that are necessary for accessibility IMO reduce the usability for those who don't need them

We would prefer deck 8 as for us it’s a good location and leave the accessible suites for those that need them. Our favoured suites are 8056/58 port side N2 with walk in shower, very little noise from above.

Hammer61 Posted December 24, 2021 #839 Share Posted December 24, 2021 First time booking with Azamara, deciding between a regular Veranda or a Veranda plus, both come in 1, 2, 3 category’s, can see they are identical cabins? Is it just if you pay a bit more you get the added perks of the plus (P) category? For example we book a P3 stateroom, we get a V3 room with the Plus extras, book a P2, it’s a V2 cabin etc or are the Veranda plus (P) staterooms dedicated to just that category only so a P3 is a better cabin and location than a V1. Hope that makes sense! Essentially just trying to figure out the difference and if booking a P class is worthwhile over a V class.
Rare Host Jazzbeau Posted December 24, 2021 #840 Share Posted December 24, 2021 With the exception of the P1 cabins, all P and V cabins are identical except for location. It's up to you whether the P3 and P2 cabins are 'better' locations – they are on deck 8 so they will have noise from above. The P1 cabins are either at the very front or very back of the ship – many love those aft P1s for the wake view and larger veranda, and some love the forward view of the other P1s (even though the veranda is probably unusable when the ship is at speed). Rather than pay the premium for a P, I would move up to a CC for the extra room. Azamara Journey Deck Plans.pdf

And the only difference in the aft cabins is a slightly larger balcony. We had one of those aft cabins (before they were designated “plus”) and loved it, but don’t think worth the extra $$. Hammer61 Posted December 25, 2021 #842 Share Posted December 25, 2021 Are the added benefits of plus worth it though? If getting a P1 is really just a V1 with some laundry, a bit of internet and specialty dining once every 7 days maybe just get a V1 and pay for those extras if you need or want them, especially if on say a 13 night cruise as you would only get speciality dinning once? That is my view, as to the P2 and P3 categories. The real value of the P1 cabins is in their location. Before the categories were split, the aft-view veranda cabins were the most expensive – the price difference was clearly just for the wake view, and they sold out very quickly. [I forget how the forward P1 cabins were categorized before, as this location has never been any interest to me – the experience of sitting on the far end of a seesaw in rough seas doesn't appeal!] BTW: Azamara sent out a survey before making this change. The sentiment on this forum was solidly against it, because the added amenities are not sufficient to make up for the poor location of these cabins. Azamara [then under Royal Caribbean's thumb] made the change anyway.

I don't see any value in the added "benefits." You can easily purchase those things for far less than the extra cost of the Plus cabin. As noted above, the location of the aft plus cabins are the only thing that makes the P1 cabins attractive; if I can't have one I don't even bother considering a P2 or P3 .

Thanks, and to the others that posted as well 👍 Decided on the Aft P1 but then only one is available and it’s on deck 8 and from looking at cabin reviews, these are prone to being covered in soot! So back to the drawing board..........Called and spoke with Azamara and actually ended up booking a mid ship V3 on deck 6, couldn’t see much difference between this and a V1? Apart from that being on deck 7 they are identical in every way, even the agent said just location and when I pressed about potential noise from deck 5 she said it would be minimal at worst or in all probability not at all, also from experience noise from above is the more problematic, so would rather be on deck 6 than deck 8 where all the “P” category are!!!! Time will tell, now the countdown until February 2023😄

Thank goodness they had 7012 open and helped move us in there on day 3 of a 15 day cruise. Even the guy in the big suite 7119 wanted out.

We could hear a low rumble in the hallway but never in the suite itself.
