So I read this thread and decide to give them a call. On our cruise in April we spent a lot of time in the casino and who knows how much money. We're booked for another cruise in two weeks. The lady told me we didn't play enough to get anything other than a few fun play chips and we'd just have to play more if we expected any more. Wow...

On my recent Spelndor (9/22/13) cruise, I sat at the Let It Ride table with a man who was playing MAX BET on every hand, which I believe is $250.00 a hand. He went through $6,000.00 in about an hour and rarely won. He asked the PIT Boss to comp him A DRINK. I told him that they should be comping all of his drinks. He finally got the Drinks On Us card on the 3rd day. He said it took so much back and forth, he got tired of asking for it. He said he went through $15,000.00 by the time he finally got his drink card. I felt so bad for him that I told him "I" wanted to buy him a drink;)...

He said that he is such a high roller at Harrah's, the cruise was given to him as a promo. He said he would never do it again as he could not believe that is how they treated the players...

I spend a lot of my time in the casino and treat it as a gamblers cruise every time. I usually get my Drinks On Us card the first or second night. I am NO WAY a high roller like that though..

I think Carnival is getting a tad bit better with the perks, giving free interior cabins and more Premier PLayer's cruises...these perks are wonderful and I personally would not cruise any other way than on the Premier Casino Players cruise.

JMHO;)

didn't even know that they had a drinks on us card. I hit 1500 points easy in a few days and kept going. I called ahead and got zero. I had received mail promos in the past but then didn't cruise for a few years. Princess was horrible in the casino; couldn't get a drink even when you wanted to pay for it; never anyone around. Machines were the tightest I've ever seen in any casino anywhere and staff were nasty. Oh well. I'll keep my gambling money in my pocket on my next cruise and spend it at the Indian casinos or in Vegas instead. At least I can get a drink now and then. How many points do they expect you to have before giving any perks?

I also got tired of the decreasing perks from Carnival Player's Club (my gambling budget has increased over the years, but my offers went from 'free suite for 7 nights' to '$100 casino cash' to nothing after my last ~10,000 point cruise), so I made the switch to Norwegian. Just finished my first cruise with them a few weeks ago and am 100% converted. I e-mailed CAS (Norwegian's casino dept) to see about maybe getting a 5-10% discount on my next cruise even though I'm a newbie who is still in the first tier of their system - I was pleasantly shocked when they called me back that day and offered me a comped ocean view (which I'm upgrading to a suite for about $600pp). Carnival who? :D

We were "in the same boat" as you. We're the highest tier level on Carnival (diamond) and take 6-8 cruises a year. I'd average 6-11,000 points every cruise. A few years ago we were getting comped suites and most offers for the VIP (now premier) cruises were $1250 casino cash. Now they're offering me $250?????

I emailed Michael B. (who I'd dealt with for years) and complained of the lowered comps. His answer was, "well it works for us". We've switched over to NCL, where I always get comped at least an inside, both of us get the drink cards, free dinner for 2 in a specialty restaurant and much more. C-Ya Carnival!

Just an FYI~ if you gamble at Caesars Entertainment casinos in Vegas and are a member of Total Rewards~ NCL gives discounts off their cruises for TR members~ and they give out comped cruises~ DH has had about 7 offers for comped cruises~ only been able to use 3 so far~

INSIDES – SE THRU SJ PENTHOUSE STATEROOMS

(S6-S9 ON NORWEGIAN EPIC, BREAKAWAY OR GETAWAY)

Platinum (10%) Diamond (20%) and Seven Stars (30%)

and

SD PENTHOUSE STATEROOMS AND ABOVE

(S5-S1 ON NORWEGIAN EPIC, BREAKAWAY OR GETAWAY)

Platinum (5%) Diamond (10%) Seven Stars (20%)

Plus you automatically get the drinks on us card for both guests in the cabin~ some have said if they had more than 2 all got the card~

How do you get the cruise deals? A friend of mine got a card from Harrahs to go to Vegas to claim her cruise. We gamble more than her and have never gotten anything about a cruise. Would love to know how to get these deals.

Thanks,

Rita

Be careful with the number. I just called and they cut my Casino Cash amount in half  I may just have to look into NCL.

They also told me that if I did not bet at least $20.00 per hand for at least 4 hours that my table play would not be included even if my card was swiped into the new table rating system. I am really bummed
