My husband and I like to take excursion at every port but like to do more than just the beach excursion where you go to their beach and lay out or swim.

Feel free to recommend any others but want them to be through RC

THANK YOU

Tours 1,2 & 4 are all on the mainland and will require a half-hour (ish) ride on a ferry and then a bus transfer to the tour.

Xplore is cool. Pretty touristy, man-made zip lines from high structures, not through the jungles, etc. It's located just a short ride from the ferry drop off in Playa del carmen. If you like adrenaline sports, this might be fun for you.

Akumal Turtles are nice if you want to spend a lot of time on transportation. you'll ferry again and then it's about a 45 minute bus ride either way to Akumal from PDC. If you want to see a cute little Mexican area, it's nice. There are almost ALWAYS turtles there. Only thing would be if it's windy and too rough to snorkel. Generally it's nice there.

Secret River is pretty cool. If you want to take a trip to the mainland, out of all three, that is probably the one I'd do. Pretty authentic and neat experience.

I can second that the turtles are great, except for the long ride there and back (both boat and bus). We took this tour two years ago and instead of the advertised lunch they had breakfast which, well...we ate on the ship. But, there were a few open taps of different Mexican beers which I made sure to partake of.

The beach was actually very nice. You had plenty of time to walk up and down the beach too. You also have access to the hotel pools if you want. If you bring your own snorkel stuff, you can go back into the water and see the turtles again for another hour or two, just be sure to be back and dried off in time to get to the bus to go back.

Since we are going to Cozumel in a week or so, we decided that we didn't want to spend that much time driving and will be staying on the island, we just don't know what to do there..
