Would like to spend 1 night Pre-cruise in Southampton to rest up before embarking. Any recommendations on a hotel?? Thanks

Have only just seen this request, so may be too late. As a Southampton resident, perhaps I can be of help. The nearest hotels to the port area are the Ibis, Novotel, and De Vere Grand Harbour - the latter is the most expensive. They are also within walking distance of the shopping mall, West Quay, and the town centre. Needless to say we haven't stayed in any of them.
