lysolqn Posted June 15, 2005 #1 Share Posted June 15, 2005 Does anyone know HAL's policy re charging for toddlers as the second passenger in a cabin? Is it at full fare or at a discounted fare? Thanks!
Esme Posted June 15, 2005 #2 Share Posted June 15, 2005 The fare for a toddler is at a discounted rate. Best to check with a TA or HAL to find out the price.
Rare Smmessineo Posted June 15, 2005 #3 Share Posted June 15, 2005 The original post mentioned a toddler as the second guest. I'm guessing HAL wants full fare for first two passengers in any cabin.
jhannah Posted June 15, 2005 #4 Share Posted June 15, 2005 This would be correct. The second pax is full fare, regardless of age.
Esme Posted June 15, 2005 #5 Share Posted June 15, 2005 OOPS - sorry - these darn cataracts are playing havoc with my sight. Will be glad when they are removed. :) I was thinking the toddler was the 3rd person. You are both right.
Krazy Kruizers Posted June 15, 2005 #6 Share Posted June 15, 2005 lysolgn From what you are saying, the toddler and you will be the only ones in the cabin. According to HAL's policies, that toddler is considered the second passenger and will pay the same fare as you. If there is a third person involved, then the toddler would go under the title of "child" or "third" person. Call HAL for further information. HMAN Posted June 16, 2005 #7 Share Posted June 16, 2005 We are booked on the Zuiderdam in November and we are bringing our 9 month old with us.... The price we booked for the baby was 365.00 that included all port and taxes. Now, even that is ridiculas when you think of it... she will be nine months old when we cruise... she will not eat, drink, or anything..... A lot of travel websites were pricing my daughter out at 499...... Crazy... Hope this helped. Harry

Harry Well, she will be requiring some amount of service from the room steward- a 3rd person is an extra person to clean up after no matter the age. And certainly the dining stewards will have some work to do for her- keeping her amused hopefully while you all are eating meals, high chair, and maybe even some service from them, too- toys and crumbs on the dining room floor maybe? I wouldn't expect any cruiseline not to charge for a baby or toddler.
bookworm0911 Posted June 16, 2005 #10 Share Posted June 16, 2005 But that's as a 3rd passenger, not a 2nd. Dave- the poster you are replying to is not the OP who asked about baby as 2nd pax. :D
tumeroll Posted June 17, 2005 #11 Share Posted June 17, 2005 If this presents a problem, Holiday Inn allows kids to stay and eat free.
