May weather:outer wear

I know lots of weather questions have been asked and I know how to find the average temperature. BUT, I am undecided as to a jacket/coat.

We are going on a river cruise from St. Petersburg to Moscow from May 2-May 17. We will have a 5 day pre-cruise trip to Helsinki and Tallinn.

I have been to Alaska in the summer and also The Netherlands/Belgium in April. So I know how to layer.

My question: Should I take a light rain jacket without any warm lining which I took on both those trips. (I wore a sweater over a regular shirt or blouse over a cami). This was fine.

OR, should I take my London Fog with a zip-out quilted lining. We really weren't out at night on those trips, but will be on this trip. It is pretty bulky & I will have to store overhead on the planes. Also, I don't think it would be quite as waterproof as my light rain jacket.

I am fairly hot natured if that helps.

Thanks!
