Iceland during Independence Day

Recommended Posts

We will be in Iceland June 16 and 17, a Sunday and on Independence Day, Monday. What could we expect to be open on the Sunday and the holiday Monday? We would like to do a Golden Circle Tour, visit the Blue Lagoon and see some of the downtown sites as well in Reykjavik.

Any other suggestions for our itinerary are welcome too!

How about contacting your hotel and ask them these questions? Surely they'll know what's open and what's not. Have fun! We'll be there for 2 days in July and the day we arrive is my birthday! What a cool place to celebrate. :D We're doing the same itinerary as you - Golden Circle and seeing Reykjavik the first day, then to the Blue Lagoon the next day and fly on to London that evening.
