jsjjkelly Posted May 24, 2013 #152 Share Posted May 24, 2013 (edited) I had surgery 10 days before a cruise in 1996, dr said that the staples could come out in 10 days, told him no, they would be coming out in 8 days as I had a flight scheduled and that I don't think the ships dr would remove staples, they came out and I made the cruise. This happened to us. My son fell at school 3 days before our cruise resulting in 8 stitches above his eye. The nurse kept arguing we had to come back in a week to get them removed, and when we told her we were going to be on a cruise, she said well, you can't go! Really? My husband is a nurse and he removed them. Like we'd really miss a cruise for that.... Sheesh. Shawn Edited May 24, 2013 by jsjjkelly
omalley16 Posted May 25, 2013 #153 Share Posted May 25, 2013 A newbie cruiser friend from the gym took her first cruise on the Elation back when she was in Mobile for a brief while. I was like "Yeah, the Elation just repositioned from San Diego because the Fantasy left Mobile to go to Charleston, and....." She looked at me like WTH? Then there are the times when people will be telling you about their cruise and can't remember a port. "We were on the Carnival Glory and went to Puerto Rico, the private island, Turks & Caicos, and I can't remember the other one...." "Your other stop was St. Thomas! That's the other port on that itinerary, St. Thomas!" "Oh yeah...." :) Booked my cruise last week, I knew more than the travel agent specializing in cruises. Never been on Royal Caribbean, still knew more than she did. Great agent, but my life is just sad at this point...

I once called Carnival o book one of those 'special' 1A cabins with the 2 windows (now switched to 6B) - the carnival agent insisted there were no windows - i told her there were 2 - she insisted on putting a supervisor on the phone.....he was also surprised at this news - said he was going to check on his 'computer'....meanwhile we were chatting about cruising - lo and behold he was quite stunned when the information came up on his screen indicating the 2 windows - and then he offered me a job! ccruisequeen Posted May 25, 2013 #155 Share Posted May 25, 2013 You start a diet the day you book your cruise. That way you'll have plenty of time to backslide (unless its a pack and go cruise!) LandlockedCruiser01 Posted May 31, 2013 #157 Share Posted May 31, 2013 Particular weather conditions remind of you of certain moments during your cruise, when the weather was exactly the same. My personal example: humid weather at night with a cloudy sky and lightning in the distance, makes me think of when I was standing on the Serenity deck the first night of my cruise. Seeing lightning bolts far away on the ocean in the middle of darkness was truly a "wow!" moment.

CruisingOcean Posted June 2, 2013 #166 Share Posted June 2, 2013 When your office at home looks like a shrine to Carnival. When you hide the 3 foot blow up of Freddy when company comes over. When you sign up on one of those dating sites and your name is "ILOVEFREDDY". When you have charm bracelet with a fleet of ships on it. Yes, I'm addicted! I will be taking my milestone cruise in November. NUMBER 25 BABY! BTW did you know they actually send you a letter regarding this on Milestone/Carnival Letterhead? Guess I'll have to frame it and add it to the shrine! LOL!
morganboys Posted June 2, 2013 #167 Share Posted June 2, 2013 ...you check out all the local flea market for carnival cruise line glasses/cups to add to your collection (currently 30+) ...you kiss the whale tail everytime you step foot on a carnival ship. ...you would rather cruise than take a land base vacation. ...you buy stuff at rummage sales & sell it on craigslist in order to pad your cruise fund. ... you crave warm chocolate melting cake 24/7. ... you search cruise reviews for food porn. ... you get more excited about a cruise that a friend or co worker is thaking then they do. ... your co workers say you're on vacation next week. which cruise ship are you going on? KrabbyKelly Posted June 2, 2013 #169 Share Posted June 2, 2013 My name is KrabbyKelly and I am a cruise addict. I will be on a cruise in less than 2 weeks. I came to realize I had a problem when 2 nights ago a tornado was headed directly to my town, and was 5 minutes away. After sending my kids and pets to the basement, I spent the remaining minutes collecting our passports, cruise documents, birth certificates, and preprinted luggage tags. It was only then that I went to the basement, where I proceeded to read the travel insurance policy to keep myself occupied during the storm, making sure that if the storm leveled our house or something, we would be able to reschedule the cruise. Luckily, the tornado blew just north of us, and other than some trees and some minor structure damage, our community was safe. And so was my cruise.:D

I believe I booked shortly thereafter.
