luckygurl1227 Posted May 13, 2013 #1 Share Posted May 13, 2013 hello, my cruise won't be until August, but i was wondering how much should i expect to pay for parking in the French Quarter? I found a site that says $10 for 10 hours of parking at what I'm assuming is a garage called Central Parking? I'll be there on Saturday, and will probably spend Sunday outside of NOLA doing a plantation tour or something.. Thoughts?
Carolin Posted May 14, 2013 #2 Share Posted May 14, 2013 check this site.. http://neworleans.bestparking.com/ it will give you all the parking and price. I've driven in NOLA and its nuts. I would park somewhere on the fringes of the Quarter and then walk everywhere. Love the city. Have a great trip.:)
ellieanne Posted May 14, 2013 #3 Share Posted May 14, 2013 We almost always park here: http://www.theshopsatcanalplace.com/parking It's certainly not the cheapest parking around, but it is convenient to the Quarter, and easy to get in and out, which is worth it for us. jgmpuma Posted May 15, 2013 #4 Share Posted May 15, 2013 Parking in the French Quarter is not cheap, because there isn't much of it. There are some lots along Decatur Street near the river, but they sometimes fill up on weekends. Some of the parking lots advertised as being in the French Quarter are actually on the western edge along Rampart: not a great area, especially at night. Another idea is to park in the Harrah's Casino parking lots on Convention Center Blvd. They are covered and secured, and a short walk to the FQ. You can get a Player's card, play the slots for 30 minutes and get 24 hours of free parking.
luckygurl1227 Posted May 16, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted May 16, 2013 Thanks everyone!!! My group meets tonight and this was just the information I was looking for. My in-laws are casino addicts :D, so i bet we'll be in the Harrah's lot. They can gamble while the rest of us take in the sights. Thanks again my fellow cruisers! ghia007 Posted May 16, 2013 #6 Share Posted May 16, 2013 We used the parking at the shops at canal place for long term parking when we left for a river cruise. There is a street car stop close by. There is also a street car stop down the street (towards the river) from Harrah's hotel.
