mcat12 Posted May 29, 2013 #1 Share Posted May 29, 2013 We will be on the Carnival Paradise in October 2014 for a friends wedding. I'm trying to plan (way) ahead excursions for the two ports (grand cayman & Cozumel). My husband and I are not 'lay out in the sun all day' people and we aren't heavy drinkers. We are in our early 30s and in good health. Can anyone suggest anything? We prefer a ship sponsored excursion. I thought maybe the Mayan Ruins but it seems to get mixed reviews. Then I thought maybe swimming with the dolphins or turtles but I don't think my husband would be too keen on that. We have a lot of time to plan, so no rush, just wondering what some favorites were. Thanks! JohninDC Posted May 29, 2013 #2 Share Posted May 29, 2013 We almost never use ships tours. In Coz we enjoyed a snorkel tour with Eagle Ray a few years ago, or you can snorkel from the shore at the Money Bar: http://www.moneybarbeachclub.com/ In Grand Cayman skip the ship's tour and go on the Stingray City/snorkel tour with Moby Dick! :D Smaller boat, less crowded, and great service! http://www.mobydicktours.com/ If you have time in GC, have the Moby bus drop you at Rackham's waterfront bar/restaurant -- the Caybrew beer is good and the conch fritters are great! Good luck! :)

newsman Posted June 2, 2013 #5 Share Posted June 2, 2013 I don't use ship tours either, and these guys want you to book thru the ship. Now that they are in Coz, check it out and see if it's a possibility. http://www.tampabay.com/features/travel/americas-cup-12-metre-challenge-turns-swabbies-to-sailors/2120936 We had a blast, had a group of seven that went together.
