Aft balcony to aft mini-suite on Gem?

Recommended Posts

Is it worth upgrading from deck 10 aft balcony to deck 11 aft mini-suite on Gem? I've read about the difficulties with the tub in the mini-suite (slipping because of the angle of the tub floor - high sides to the tub) - and that the balcony on 10 is larger than the balcony on 11. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you in advance. Price is only about $75 per person for the upgrade.

For me - the upgrade would not be worth it. I would rather have the large balcony as that is where I spend a good portion of my cruise.

It all depends on what is important to you in a room.

Also - on deck 11 you will have the Great Outdoors right above you. You may have a noise issue.

The last voyage on the Gem we were in an aft balcony cabin on Deck 10. Of course we loved the location with the amazing aft views. We are now booked on the Gem for next October and decided to book an aft facing mini suite on deck 11. Although I cannot advise you as of yet whether this is a good decision, I can tell you that I am excited to try something new. Either way, I believe you will be happy with either choice. :)

I've stayed in both on the Gem. And yes, I love the big balcony on 10 but I would upgrade for only $150 more.

The balcony in the M1 isn't that small at all and the cabin itself (to us) was much nicer and noticeably bigger - more shelf space too thru-out. I would say do it :-)
