Bayport Cruise Terminal (Houston)

I suspect the PP wasn't taking about the terminal staff. Princess had lots of fog related issues last season. Either delays leaving or making it back and then on ours the dreaded noro. Hopefully the weather will be kinder this year to both Norwegian and Princess.

Hi Clay,

I have heard from others about the fog.

We were on the first Princess sailing & no fog either leaving or returning.

Maybe we were lucky?

We’ve sailed several times from Galveston & also never had a problem with fog.

Again, maybe just good luck.

I could see the possibility more when returning to port - early in the AM.

Most fogs burn off by mid morning - at least around our neck of the woods, which is West Houston.

We’re sailing NCL Jewel in Dec. I hope our luck holds up.

Judy

Can anyone advise the best way to get 6 none US residents from Houston Galleria area to cruise terminal?

Houston now has Uber and Lyft services in addition to the numerous taxi and limo/van companies. Download their apps and that'll be another option.

I am considering signing up with one of these to earn some cruising money :)

I have joined Uber - as a rider - what a great idea about being a driver.

I will have to check out Lyft.

Thanks for the information.

We are sailing on the Jewel in a few weeks. Norwegian allows you to bring on your own sodas. In NOLA the dockhands refuse to treat cases of soda as checked baggage but apparently at most ports you can put a room tag on the case and have it delivered to the room. Does anyone know if this is done at Bayport or do you have to carry on soda as in NOLA?

Just came back from NCL Jewel cruise. Although I did not bring my own, I saw people asking the luggage handlers what to do with their soda/water, they were instructed to bring them on as carryons. Hope this helps!

Just got home from the second cruise. We saw a lot of people using those small collapsible luggage carts to carry on water and soda. We took a 24 pack of water, and all I did was put it in a gym bag with a shoulder strap to make it easier to carry.
