Clearing Customs/Immigration in Honolulu??

One possible way to enter US for a holiday form Australia is via Honolulu. Hawaiian Airlines fly direct from Brisbane to Honolulu. Does anybody know , having cleared Customs/Immigration in Hawaii and then flying to a point on the mainland, whether there are any further Customs/Immigration procedures- or is it just an internal "domestic" flight.

 

This is an attempt to avoid the "infamous" Los Angeles airport.

Any flight from Hawaii to the US mainland is 'domestic'. No further checks. :)

 

I too hate LAX, but can tell you that clearing Customs in Miami or Philadelphia is worse.
