murphy4 Posted July 6, 2013 #1 Share Posted July 6, 2013 Has any one booked an inside guarantee on the Breakaway? DH and I want to do Bermuda in Sept and the cheapest Cat is the Inside Guarantee. Are all of the inside cabins a 2 bed set up or are some an upper and lower bunk? all input greatly appreciated. We have never cruised NCL,
rvsullivan Posted July 6, 2013 #2 Share Posted July 6, 2013 They are all double/queen that can be split into two twins. Tell them how you want them set up.
Starry Eyes Posted July 6, 2013 #3 Share Posted July 6, 2013 if you can happily sail in any cabin, anywhere on the ship, go ahead and book the inside gty. OTOH, do not do it if you will be unhappy if you get a less desirable cabin (noisy location, way forward or aft, long walk to elevators, low deck, different stuff bugs different people). I have booked many gty cabins; since we are flexible it has always worked our fine.
bakerintn Posted July 6, 2013 #4 Share Posted July 6, 2013 Often the price difference between an inside guarantee and a couple of categories up is very little. I wouldn't get hung up on getting the least expensive cabin, considering the total cost of your cruise. Although I have done a guarantee three times and came out ok, I have decided on the next cruise to book a specific cabin for the location and the layout. Josie852 Posted July 6, 2013 #5 Share Posted July 6, 2013 I am going on the July 14th sailing and the prices have dropped significantly. I booked an inside room (not a guarantee room) and was given a free upgrade to a balcony this week.
yellohj Posted July 6, 2013 #6 Share Posted July 6, 2013 My wife and I booked and inside guarantee for the July 14th. We didn't get any upgrade to a different (ocean view balcony, etc), but we were given a 1D category assignment. We have cruised many times in either a suite or balcony. This is our first cruise ever to have an inside, but we are adventurous. Also, Bermuda is probably one of the only cruises that I would do this on, because of the 3 day over night - you are not missing much by not being able to see out. We have already been to Bermuda last year on Celebrity Summit in the Aqua Class Aft Balcony, and we rented the scooter and spent so much time off the ship. We used the savings this time to buy premium events and restaurants with the difference in room category. That way we saved our money for another vacation around December. Anyway those are some points of view on someone that has booked inside guarantee. Happy cruising! J
Alegeeter Posted July 1, 2014 #7 Share Posted July 1, 2014 I booked an IX for the July 6 Breakaway sailing. It's 5 days out and I still have no assignment and the ship is showing it's full. Should I expect cabin # BRIG?
Rare mking8288 Posted July 1, 2014 #8 Share Posted July 1, 2014 (edited) We booked 3 cabins past final payment on the BA back in March (about 5 weeks out) - 1 balcony GTY and 2 inside GTY (IX) with 2 people in each via TA with generous OBC on top of NCL's - took NCL a while to assign our cabins, less than 2 weeks from sailing. Ended up with IB or IC category inside on deck 11 and deck 13, MID/closer to AFT ahead of the elevators. The balcony was deck 9 MID starboard side. All were quiet and everyone happy with it - the money we've save were enough for more FCR. Insides on deck 5 would be just fine with us, YMMV - it's our money. DW had a blast onboard playing for fun in the casino - and more offers from CAS today arrived by mail, for the BA in late Nov/early Dec (almost free sailing, LOL) ... woo hoo :D Edited July 1, 2014 by mking8288
bragstarr Posted July 2, 2014 #9 Share Posted July 2, 2014 I have an IX guarantee for the 12 nighter in January to the Southern Caribbean. I'm being brave. Any and all reports of good cabins you received are good to hear...I hope I don'd end up in a bed in the medical center! BIG jump pricewise to the cheapest cabin you can select...as of now....monitoring daily to see what happens!
dolfinmusic Posted July 3, 2014 #10 Share Posted July 3, 2014 We have one booked for December. I normally like to pick our cabin but this was the best price and way to go. Hoping for the best! :o
