I am anxious, my first solo is in 40 days!  So far, i'm not seeing that anyone is on the cruise Solo with my.  The Roll Call is not very active, so who knows!  But, hey, it is a cruise and I'm sure it will be fun!  I am so excited to be trying Princess and the Regal looks like a great ship to hang out and people watch!  The pool area looks great, lots of activities, I am sure it will be fine....on that huge ship enjoying the sunshine!  Anybody else going on the 2 solo cruises I have booked?

Regal Princess - March 31 - April 7, 2019

Norwegian Bliss - October 6 - 13, 2019

Guess I'll add myself to this "solo roll call".

I'm booked on the Norwegian Bliss for the April 28 to May 4, 2019 trip from LA to Vancouver.

This will be my first true solo trip. I've cruised in cabins by myself but was with my parents, siblings and niece and nephew the first 2 times.  This will be my first NCL trip, previous 2 were Royal Caribbean (Explorer and Anthem).  I've driven a bumper car at sea, time to drive a go-kart!

I loved that ship. Book your specialty dining and your entertainment now if it is available for booking to guarantee availability for you. The jersey boys was fantastic!  And the specialty dining food was really good. I liked the steakhouse and the restaurant that is like Benihana‘s.

Just booked NCL Epic for 2 June (Western Med).  The Studio price dropped today by £140 (around $182 I think), having been tracking it for a few weeks.   Just got to the 100 days so possibly that's why.

Anyway hope to meet some great Solo cruisers again 🙂

So jealous!!!!.  Really want to try Bliss, it looks amazing, but once I've added flights from UK it's sadly out of budget for this year.    I've just booked Epic so while I'm onboard I may get some cruisenext deposits to use for Bliss at some point.

Have fun, I'm sure you will enjoy your first true solo trip.

I have Q booked already, as well as Jersey Boys and Havana.

Honestly, I think I'm as excited for the post-cruise "excursion" I'm taking after disembarkation.  It's not through NCL, it's one I'm booking on my own since I have such a late flight (red-eye heading back East).

Whatever you do, don’t miss the jersey boys.  It was a theater quality show.  I have attended a ton of shows in Las Vegas so I am slightly spoiled and I am normally not a huge fan of  entertainment elsewhere but I would pay to see that show.  I thought it was that good.

Are you able to pre-book Cagney’s steakhouse or Teppanyaki?   Two of my favorite specialty dining experiences on any ship I’ve ever been on.

What is your post-cruise excursion?

@MsSoCalCruiser I'm still trying to figure out when I might do the other specialty dining, if at all.  I think someone said the initial solo cruiser meet was on embarkation day just before dinner, or maybe it was the first full day just before dinner.  Cagney's only allows booking as 2, same with Ocean Blue.

As for the post-cruise excursion - https://vancouvertours.com/tour/sea-to-sky-tour/  I'll have to check my suitcase with CDS at the cruise terminal as my flight isn't until 11 PM so unless I take the SkyTrain back downtown from the airport they won't take my suitcase on the tour bus.  Well, I guess they would but I don't want to be lugging it around all evening.

I have Jersey Boys booked for the same night as I'm doing Q, Q is at 5:30 with the show at 7:30 so I should have plenty of time.

Book a 2 person table online and then just change it to 1 person once your on the ship, or you may find someone on your roll-call to join you, or someone else in the solos meetup.  That’s what I’m doing for my NCL Cruise in May. I booked Ocean Blue for embarkation day as they normally don’t have a table in the MDR arranged for the solos that evening. I’ve also booked Teppanyaki for later in the cruise, maybe I’ll find someone at the solos meetup to join me for one or the other.  On my first cruise there was another newbie who couldn’t actually get slots to use all of his SDP credits.

Hello! My name is Amanda and I booked my first cruise. I’ll be on the Norwegian Epic October 30-November 6 leaving from Civitavecchia. I’ll also be celebrating my birthday on the trip and I usually don’t do anything special so this will be a change even though I’ll be surrounded by strangers.

I did tons of research before booking this one and booked during wave season so I got the cruise for just over $1,000 plus the drinks package for free (I did pay the gratuity but if I get at least 2 drinks a day it’ll pay for itself anyway). Came out to $1,300 or so. Not as cheap as the double occupancy deals or some cheaper cruises in the Caribbean but I’ve always wanted to do a Mediterranean cruise so it’s worth the money to me.

That excursion looks exciting… Enjoy. I would go with the suggestion you received about booking a table for two. Try to do it online and if that doesn’t work call NCL and ask for help.

I just booked a R/T 13 nt Sidney to NZ. for Jan 8, 2020 on the Majestic Princess near the aft in a balcony. I know it's a long way off but I was able to use a good CAS deal with 600 OBC, 150 casino cash and a specialty meal.

I'm also thinking about adding another cruise to this one to take in Southern AUS. while I'm there as well as some land time. Need to get the most out of the long plane ride! I'll have a lot of planning to do.

Congratulations on your first Mediterranean cruise.  I did the Mediterranean last October  with my sisters and one of their husbands and we just loved it.   I went in a few days before hand and explored room and that was just fabulous.

My next solo cruise is March 17th , 2019 to Mexico on the  New Amsterdam

Oh I hope you really share lots of information and pictures on the New Amsterdam.

I will be doing my very first solo cruise on her April 7th.  I’m a big fan of HAL and have sailed on other ships but this is like I said my first solo and my first time on the New Amsterdam.

I have an inside guarantee booked because that’s all my funds would allow. I’m really hoping for a good location but I don’t plan on spending a lot of time in the cabin so I’m sure anywhere will be fine.

Any suggestions on where I should hang out and what I should do as a solo traveler would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Tammie
