Formal nights on Infinity

Just wanting opinions on men's suits? Do they need the jacket for formal nights, or is shirt and tie acceptable? Sailing from Harwich in 2 weeks

the dress code states that a jacket is required. If you don't wear one, be prepared to be handed one by the staff on entering the dining room. It doesn't happen on every cruise, but it does happen. The vast majority of men will be in tuxedos, dinner jackets, or suits. A few will have a sports coat and dress trousers. Very, very few will have a sports coat and jeans. Sailings from Harwich tend to be more formal than those in the Caribbean or Alaska.

I did not see any gent at formal dining on Infinity last week that was not wearing a jacket

Agree. You do not need a tuxedo or suit, but a sport coat, at the very least should be worn.

When we were on the Infinity British Isles cruise in June we did not see any men in the MDR without a suit jacket. They would have stuck out if they were without one.

We were on a BtoB in June on the Infinity. Seems like about 25% Tuxes, 50% suits, and 25% Coats and ties. Our second leg was in Blu and everyone there followed the MDR formal code.

We were on the Infinity in May and I didn't take my tux this time. I did wear a jacket, but didn't have to wear a tie, if that helps.
