tombourn Posted July 27, 2013 #1 Share Posted July 27, 2013 Just got assigned D510 on the Sapphire. It's an inside cabin, IB , so not bad for $299... anyway.. Will the 3/4 bunk come down from the ceiling or be on the wall? Does their existence interfere with movement around e cabin? Unsightly? Either way we are okay with it considering.... Thanks
caribill Posted July 27, 2013 #2 Share Posted July 27, 2013 I can't answer about where they are in your cabin on the Sapphire. If they are mounted in the ceiling, they will not be in your way at all. If they are mounted on the wall, they will be quite visible and will be in your way some of the time. Hopefully someone can post which way they are in your cabin. Thanks It's a terrible price if it's a 2 night cruise but a wonderful price for a 7 night cruise :D
tombourn Posted July 27, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted July 27, 2013 Definitely 7:). Even at that, it will be our shortest one in 3 years... Couldn't pass it up. With taxes and airfare after OBC's it was still less than $650 each.
caribill Posted July 28, 2013 #5 Share Posted July 28, 2013 Just got assigned D510 on the Sapphire. It's an inside cabin, IB , You can check with your TA (or Princess if you booked directly) and see if an IB category cabin is available without the extra bunks. If there is, they can change your assignment at no cost.
tombourn Posted July 28, 2013 Author #6 Share Posted July 28, 2013 I would have, but all interiors are sold out... Probably way they assigned cabins this far out. I'm satisfied for sure.
nancyjw Posted July 28, 2013 #7 Share Posted July 28, 2013 Most of the time if the bunk is attached to the wall they can be folded up. they will lay against the wall so will not be in your way. Your room steward will put it down when he does the turn down in the evening and will put it back up when he cleans up in the morning.

Not the ship in question, but I would not call the wall attached bunks in this picture from a Princess ship "not in your way." They are a hazard to shoulders and heads. Also, the OP does not need the 3rd or 4th bunk, just has been assigned to a cabin with them.
