hospvol Posted August 4, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 4, 2013 On the Celebrity Eclipse is category 2D looking on a lifeboat or are they recessed. We were on HAL Noordam and our balcony looked directly on a life boat which was not recessed.
David Owl Posted August 4, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 4, 2013 I don't beleive that any Celebrity Eclipse cabins look directly at the lifeboats, some just look over the top of them. This means that you can look out to sea but you can't look down. There was a thread some time ago with pictures so you might be able to search for them. jaybird from SC Posted August 4, 2013 #3 Share Posted August 4, 2013 Do your research because you are could definitely be looking down on the lifeboats depending of course on where the cabin is located. They do block your straight down views if that's important to you. There is a good link on here showing all catagories of cabins.
Algebralovr Posted August 5, 2013 #4 Share Posted August 5, 2013 Take a look at http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?p=37932600 There are some 2D photos. I didn't mind too much, we were in 6208, because it was nice to have a balcony as opposed to no balcony. But you may be looking right at the top of the life boats. The 2Cs have a little less obstruction.
Rare Hawkstar33 Posted August 5, 2013 #5 Share Posted August 5, 2013 2d will be above lifeboats if on deck 6....We have had this cabin class before and are getting the same one again this coming year...To us it was not a big deal to have the lifeboats below us...You still can see the beautiful water sitting or standing on your balcony...Hang over your railing and look directly down and you will see the lifeboats....Really depends on how picky you are I guess.... steve ch Posted August 5, 2013 #6 Share Posted August 5, 2013 As a rule of thumb, I think that 2D's are above the tender boats, while 2C's are above the standard lifeboats. The standard lifeboat top is roughly level with the deck of the balcony, while the tender comes up to the railing, so the view is more restricted.
