elliair Posted August 5, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 5, 2013 I got an email from Carnival offering me to purchase Faster to the Fun for our up coming Alaskan cruise on the Miracle. We've been platinum for the last two cruises. I emailed them back asking why would I want to purchase the FTTF package when we are platinum? Even had our booking number and details on the invitation. I would say this was desperation on their part.
bruisin4cruisin Posted August 5, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 5, 2013 Offering a service to a valued customer? Lol. That sounds a little odd to me. I would love to know if they even bother answering you.
bobsfamily Posted August 5, 2013 #3 Share Posted August 5, 2013 Most likely a mass emailing for your cruise.... must not be many P/D. I understand being miffed as they should know the P/D at least. Have a wonderful Cruise!
elliair Posted August 5, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted August 5, 2013 I got it about 10 minutes ago. I would post it here but it has my personal info on it. I'll let everyone know if I get an answer back. Just thought it was odd that they didn't recognize a "valued" customer.

I'm not platinum, probably never will be, but have openly said here that Carnival needs to step it up big time for platinum - this isn't what I was talking about though! Noel182002 Posted August 5, 2013 #6 Share Posted August 5, 2013 I got one for our cruise in September as well as several on my roll call.. Even though that are platinum it's just a mass email
Rudyard Posted August 6, 2013 #7 Share Posted August 6, 2013 My guess is that whatever program they use to send out mass e-mails doesn't differentiate between the VIFP status of the cruiser. I would have gotten a chuckle out of it then hit the delete button.
RWolver672 Posted August 6, 2013 #8 Share Posted August 6, 2013 It seems odd that they would even have to beg anyone to get it seeing how they only allow 30 cabins at the most to buy it. In most cases, they have way more than 30 cabins that want it and can't get it.

Which leads one to the question of how many do they actually have for sale...

what to go here and there Posted August 6, 2013 #12 Share Posted August 6, 2013 FYI Miracle --- just opened up for the very first time for the FTTF passes about a month ago, they were never available until then, so they may be just letting everyone know that is now booked on the Miracle, the program just does not have the exceptions to move diamond. and platiums out of the email list.. meme2manthajoe Posted August 6, 2013 #13 Share Posted August 6, 2013 There are a lot of people who still don't know about FTTF. So they are probably just trying to get the info out to everyone who might be interested.
woodey Posted August 6, 2013 #14 Share Posted August 6, 2013 How embarrassing for CCL... in my business which is customer driven, its details, details, details....i guess they dont really care about that:confused:
UndrBridgePatrol Posted August 6, 2013 #15 Share Posted August 6, 2013 Does it really matter if they sent you an automated email and didn't recognize your "exalted" status? Just hit delete and move on.
WhoDat2009 Posted August 6, 2013 #16 Share Posted August 6, 2013 My goodness, the elites get more restless by the day. It's a mass email. If you don't want it, don't bother with it. I can't imagine being offended by something like this.
RWA Cruisers Posted August 6, 2013 #17 Share Posted August 6, 2013 It's a new incentive for Platinum & Diamond members. They can buy up all of the FTTF passes and keep the regular folks from boarding early. LOL :D

stewpapa Posted August 6, 2013 #19 Share Posted August 6, 2013 30 cabins times $50 = $ 1500 per cruise. Can't believe they even bother with it. Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app

Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app x however many ships they do this on now x how many times they sail. And the best part for them is there's really no extra expenditure they have to make to make this happen thus easy money. Extra revenue for really nothing additional on their part for a service customers are willing to pay for, makes business sense to me.
elliair Posted August 6, 2013 Author #21 Share Posted August 6, 2013 Does it really matter if they sent you an automated email and didn't recognize your "exalted" status? Just hit delete and move on. Of course it matters. How stupid can they be? My exalted status? LOL! Not exalted at all, it's a perk I'm entitled to. I wouldn't shell out $49.95 just so they can get into my wallet faster. I can't imagine being offended by something like this. Not offended at all, Carnival can't keep track of its customers. I find it more amusing than anything. I couldn't help but ask them why they're trying to sell me something that I am already getting for free. Oh the irony.:D
