The roads in Aruba...

It has been 10 years since I have been to Aruba. I remember on the other side of the island (at that time) there were no roads. You needed a 4 wheel drive jeep to get through the sand. This is over where the church is, the natural bridge, etc. Has this changed? Because I see large motorcoach buses now take tours over there so I have to assume they are not driving on sand. Can someone please clarify? Thanks.

  1. Matavidiri http://old.wikimapia.org/#lat=12.5457929&lon=-69.967428&z=16&l=0&m=h is the route the buses take from inland to the collpased Natural Bridge. I don't recall if it is paved all of the way, but if the bus can get there, you can make it in a car.

  2. Road 7 is paved http://old.wikimapia.org/#lat=12.4969438&lon=-69.9222917&z=16&l=0&m=h will take you to the welcome center for Arikok National Park where you will need to pay admission $10 per adult. This road is pavement to Boca Prins. It does not extend to Dos Playa.

  3. Alto Vista is paved up to the chapel http://old.wikimapia.org/#lat=12.5752037&lon=-70.0112579&z=17&l=0&m=h but not downhill towards the ocean.

  4. The road is not paved between the lighthouse and the Natural Bridge.
