I'm taking a cruise out of Miami and struggling to find the right flights. Fort Lauderdale seems to be an option. I want to fly in the night before and stay in a hotel. How difficult is it to get to and back from the cruise port from Fort Lauderdale airport?

In days past when we sailed out of Miami, we always flew in and out of Ft. Lauderdale. IMO it is a much better and easier airport than Miami and there are many options from shared busses, cabs, cars, etc. for the transfer to and from Miami. It is done all the time. BYW the time between to two is about 45 minutes terminal to terminal.

Check the FL departure board as suggested or go on line and Google it - plenty of information available with both.

Taxi is the most convenient but probably the most costly.

Depending upon traffic, it is about 35 minutes from FLL airport to Miami and about $80 depending just where in Miami you are staying.

Agree. We usually fly in to Miami and take a taxi to Ft Lauderdale, because we can get a direct flight to Miami. Taxi is the best way to go between the two locations.
