Booking on board

We are going on a cruise next week. We have done all our research and are ready to book another cruise for next year. Is there any reason NOT to book this on board and receive the OBC.

Plus with the new sale 1/2 deposit really lets me pull the trigger.

Will I still have all the control of the cruise that I have now, since usually I book on line?

You will still have control even though you're booking with an onboard cruise specialist.

 

However, be careful of changes. Sometimes changes can require that the full deposit has to be made and sometimes the changes can eliminate OBC.

 

It would probably be best to call the 800# to question any changes and how it would affect your current booking.

Make sure you know the correct price before getting on their line. Happened to us and to others that the price they quote is higher than the actual price and they wouldnt check the website.

Sure wish the would bring back the FCC because the on board cruise desk is only interested in people filling out credit card applications.

We did it the last cruise, on board credit up to $200 depending on the lengnth of the cruise. SO we put down a $100 deposit for each of us, thinking our next cruise we could get up to $400 OBC. Beware you can only redeem one OBC for room per trip. So my advice, if you are doing it for the OBC only get one if are only planning once cruise. When we get back I'm asking for a refund on the other

Are you talking about when they had the Future Cruise Certificates to purchase for $100 and receive up to $200 OBC depending on length of the cruise?

Changes should not eliminate the OBC for booking onboard. Another poster who had this happen to him finally got it reinstated after several calls. So glad that he fought for it.

I booked my December cruise while onboard the Pride in April. Got the half price deposit plus onboard credit. I have had several price drops since then and did not have to pay the other half of the deposit. According to what I have been reading on CC, the cruisers that booked the sale price cruises and then requested price drops where the cruisers that had to pay the remaining balance of their cruises. If they were not told this, then that is when there cruises were cancelled. I got worried when this was happening because I didn't want my cruise cancelled, so I called Customer Service and they told me that since I booked onboard, that I was not at risk of cancellation since it was not part of the Fall/Winter sale.
