nelblu Posted October 3, 2013 #51 Share Posted October 3, 2013 Looks good, but I wish it was a bigger ship.
emmy Posted October 3, 2013 #52 Share Posted October 3, 2013 Nassau is one of my favorite ports. I booked a Majesty cruise that I took on 9/23 just to visit Nassau again!1. You can walk to town from the ship. 2. The folks speak English. 3. US dollars are accepted everywhere. 4.You can go almost anywhere on New Providence Island for $1.25 on one of the jitneys. 5. You can get great fresh conch fritters, conch salad, and cracked conch at a very reasonable price at Potters Cay. 6. If your a beer drinker try Kalik Gold. I too like Nassau and on this particular itinerary we are there late. This will give us lots of time to enjoy the beach. We like to take the bus/jitney to the Sheraton on Cable Beach and get a day pass there. Then walk across the street to the Daq Shack and have a drink there and then have dinner at one of the local places.
negc Posted October 3, 2013 #53 Share Posted October 3, 2013 Just because you aren't up on the latest news, that doesn't make it a rumor. http://www.royalgazette.com/article/20131003/NEWS01/131009927 Touché. However, until today's news story I saw little or no notice that such an action was likely to succeed and based on recent history, past attempts to achieve this result were less than successful. It should be clear from the article that Bermudians are still quite divided in their feelings about both ship's casinos being open while in port, and the overall value of cruise ships to the economy of Bermuda. There is, and has been for quite some time, what can only be described as a love/hate relationship between Bermuda and the cruise industry. It will be interesting to see what the result of the gaming referendum is, and what, if any, effect it might have on the ship's casino issue. Pumbaamd Posted October 3, 2013 #55 Share Posted October 3, 2013 Received an e-mail today from the redeployment desk. Our 8/23 Vision has been "redeployed" and we were offered $200 OBC to change to another cruise. JS and above got the $200, $100 to other cabins. Asked what the change was, and they couldn't tell us. Thanks to CC, we now know. Ended up re-booking Freedom. Got the OBC and a very nice Military discount of $480 on the JS cabin.
