NoWhiners Posted October 17, 2013 #3 Share Posted October 17, 2013 yes, that is the contact info for them. We just got back on Tuesday night and used them for a tour of areas outside Athens on Monday. Tom was our guide and he was great! I recommend this company. Also, if you need to take a cab to the airport after your trip, he will give you a good price on that too. good luck Mary Lynn
Mltoot Posted November 13, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 13, 2013 http://www.privategreecetours.com. For their website.Or We have seen excellent reviews for his tour company and will be using them on our upcoming Oct. 19 Constellation Athens port stop. Mary Lou Private Greece Tours We arranged a tour of Athens for 10 of us from the Celebrity Constellation on October 27, 2013. All arrangements were through Nikos Loukas, at PrivateGreeceToursDotCom, or nikosloukas1@gmail.com. Our driver met us as arranged, just off the ship, and gave us information about the sites as he drove us around. Drivers are not licensed as tour guides and can not enter sites with tourists, so we came prepared with our Rick Steves Mediterranean Cruise Ports book and downloads of his Acropolis and Agora guides on our Ipad to use once we reached the sites. Our driver got us quickly to the Acropolis, before the tour bus crowds. He also made sure we saw the changing of the guard ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. We had time at the Ancient Agora, The Temple Of Olympian Zeus and the Pantheatic Stadium. We made a stop at the Acropolis Museum, but the lines were way too long, so we just took time to see the ancient ruins outside that are being excavated. They are covered with glass floors so you can look down into the proceeding excavations. One of the highlights was driving up to Athens' highest point, Lykavittos Hill, and seeing the wonderful view of all of Athens spread out before us. We did so much more than the cruise ship tours, and at a much better price. We had a very comfortable Mercedes minibus for our tour rather than a big bus and lots of people. This was a wonderful tour through Nikos at PrivateGreeceToursDotCom and we recommend them highly. Mary Lou
eetonaee Posted November 13, 2013 #5 Share Posted November 13, 2013 We had a similar tour to Mltoot but were able to get in to the museum as well. Nick was great to deal with both in the weeks and months leading up to the tour and as our guide. Due to possible transportation strikes the captain moved our arrival date in Athens up by 3 days. Before I had a chance to contact Nick to let him know about the change he called me to confirm that he would meet our group on the new arrival day. Pictured below is the black Mercedes van we toured in and the view from St. Georges church mentioned by Mltoot that you will never see if you travel in a big tour bus.
